The Kafie 1901 Connecticut is a milder addition to Kafie 1901 Cigar’s core line. The Connecticut features a honey-hued Ecuadorian Connecticut Cloud Grown wrapper that surrounds a Dominican Republic binder, which is stuffed with Dominican and Nicaraguan long-filler leaves. The tobaccos have been aged from 4 to 5 years to enhance the cigar’s flavors. The Dominican tobaccos are grown in the Cibao Valley of the Dominican Republic, which is highly regarded for growing some of the finest tobaccos in the world. The Connecticut offers an elegant and classical smoking indulgence that will appeal to the traditional and contemporary smoker.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Dominican Republic is a traditional tobacco-growing country. In the 60's, a Cuban seed was introduced and the resulting tobacco, called Piloto Cubano, became famous as a good substitute of the Cuban tobacco that was no longer allowed to enter the USA. Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.

Olor Dominicano and Piloto Cubano are the main types of tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic.

Great smooth morning smoke. If you are not aware of who Dr Gaby Kafie is look him up. Great process to bring us the best tasting vitolas. Smooth buttery flavor through out the smoke session. Punched to enjoy the creamy flavors fully. Highly recommend if you are looking for morning stick.

This was an amazing cigar. I had burn issues which affected the taste and aroma, but it was my fault. I had it over humidified. The fact that it still was a good experience speaks to the quality of it.

Excellent boutique cigar of medium strength but full of flavor. Very nice, smooth finish with hint of spice on the back end. The robusto was a very slow burner, and after an hour and 15 minutes when I had had enough, it was still only half gone! Definitely recommend as a nice cigar for sharing or commemorating special occasions.
