The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

The wrapper is very thin a delicate, it actually started to unwrap a little after cutting, I suggest using a punch cutter for this one. It had lots of soft spot but t really burned very even. The ass held past 2 inches and it was very dark grey. The smoking experience is pleasant but without much complexity in the flavor profile side of things. Nice cigar for the morning with coffee. I like the fact that they added a white extra ring to make it easy to identify vs the Corojo Toro version of the same cigar wish I enjoy actually better than this one.

Never knew about this brand until I went to my local Latin supermarket and found them in three sizes sold at the cigarette counter. Couldn't resist them at under $2 a stick! Bought a toro. Liked it. Bought a robusto. Liked it. Bought a Presidente. I liked it for a long time. Nothing wrong with this cigar that prevents you from enjoying it's tobacco flavor. It does get a bit soft as it burns to the nub, and sometimes you get splits in the wrapper that are confounding. I do keep a couple of "parts" cigars around to patch them when they threaten becoming unsmokeable. Believe me, adding a temporary layer of a different wrapper barely changes the overall flavor of this cigar. Nevetheless, I really like full-bodied cigars and just ordered a bundle of their maduros, hoping they kick the flavors up a notch.
