The RoMa Craft Intemperance Volstead VO 1920 line is a bold and historically inspired series of cigars that pays tribute to the Prohibition era and the Volstead Act that enforced it. Crafted at the Nica Sueño factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, this line showcases RoMa Craft’s signature attention to detail and rich, balanced blending. Featuring an Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed wrapper, a Mexican San Andrés binder, and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, the VO 1920 cigars offer a medium-bodied experience with complex notes of pepper, espresso, leather, and warm spices. Each vitola is named after key figures of the 1920s, blending history and flavor in every smoke.

Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Colorado is a medium brown color also known as EMS or English Market Selection as this used to be the color with more popularity in England than in America.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. Ecuador supplies Connecticut and Sumatra type wrappers to many cigar factory in the world.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
The San Andres region in Mexico is known for producing some of the best tobacco in the world. The tobacco is stalk cut and valued for its rich dark color and used to make noteworthy maduro wrappers and binders.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

The Dominican Republic is considered one of the most premier tobacco growing countries in the world. The filler tobacco grown in this Caribbean island nation ranges from mild to full bodied. Olor Dominicano and Piloto Cubano are the main types of tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic.

Interesting blend, especially for RoMa Craft. Ecuador Sumatra wrapper is closer to Cameroon. Common flavors of wood, nuts, baking spices and leather, but with a lot of sweetness (honey and caramel) and even more sourness (lemon, apples and berries). Mild and not much pepper

I love a nice robusto vitola. And I love when that robusto leaves you both satisfied and wanting more. Sometimes, you smoke two. This new line from Roma Craft, Volstead, sports an Ecuadorian grown Sumatra hybrid wrapper, Mexican San Andres binder, and fillers from La Canela, Dominican Republic and Nicaraguan tobaccos grown in Condega, Jalapa and Pueblo Nuevo. This size, the Senator, is a limited production size made at the Nica Sueno factory that comes out once a year. It is a gorgeous cigar with a medium brown exterior and an exposed foot. My guess is that this is more of an aesthetic choice and it makes the stick look rustic but chic at the same time. This cigar is full of earthy and sweet flavor. The body is medium to full. You do not expect the complexity of this smoke, but it is there: good tobacco flavor, just the right amount of spice, and flavor notes that go from toasted cedar, to coffee, to black pepper. While the cigar gets bolder as you smoke it, it remains a medium bodied stogie. Overall a great cigar.

The RoMa Craft Volstead is quickly becoming one of my favorite smokes! This stick has a beautiful oily Sumatra wrapper with a Mexican binder and filler from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Upon the first couple puffs you are gonna get a fair bit of spice with notes of earth and black pepper but as it goes on this cigar smokes beautifully and smooths out as you get past the first third. As you get halfway through the spice gets muted and you are greeted with notes of dry cocoa and rich coffee, and then as you get to the last third of the cigar we get that boldness again with the black pepper sneaking back in. The ash was very sturdy and I only required one touch up throughout my experience. If you are looking for a complex medium to full cigar look no further.
