The stalk cut method of harvesting tobacco is a method used in Connecticut farms where the tobacco is harvested by cutting the entire plant at the stalk and hanging the plant in the curing barns, as opposed to the traditional method of harvesting the tobacco leaf by leaf while leaving the plant intact.
