The Connecticut Valley, in the Northeast of the USA, is well known for its bright golden wrapper. Because of a very hot and sunny summer, the tobacco is shade grown to make the leaf more delicate with few veins and even surface. Connecticut Shade wrapper grown in the United States has a mild to medium flavor and a silky quality, making it one of the most expensive and sought-after cigar wrappers in the cigar industry.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

The shimmer on the band has definite vibes of champagne effervescence. It’s classy and smartly designed. Same goes for the cellophane, which has a yellow tint. Apparently the wrapper has been bourbon-barrel-aged, but I get zero bourbon notes, which is a positive and a testament to Perdomo’s deft hand when it comes to enhancing tobacco without causing a distraction. Cream, coffee, honey, very mild spice, lemon, Brazil nuts. The second half is the star. Medium+ body. Short+ finish. Perfect burn with a sturdy ash. Mild+ strength. It’s a good morning smoke that won’t punch you in the face.

If a champagne was a cigar! This was a fun smoke, with an impressive draw from start to finish, it burned evenly and did not need to be retouched. The cigar was a smooth smoke but did not come across as creamy. The cold draw was when I was able to taste the chocolate. I had a pleasant experience with the aromatics. The first third needed more body, but the second and third half made for it. Only towards the very end was I able to taste a familiar spiciness. Will I rebuy it, maybe, will I recommend you to try it, most definitely. Nonetheless, I caught myself saying on multiple occasions, that I am happy to be smoking this cigar!

For sure one of the best cigars I have smoked in awhile. First 1/4 is creamy and the tiniest bit sweet. As it smokes down the pepper notes get stronger. I smoked this one down till it was burning my fingers! Ill be buying a box soon hopefully!

I bought a box of these recently and let them acclimate for about a month at 65% RH in my humnidor. I've had about 5 so far and can say I like them...they are nice but for me lack a bit of flavor. They burn well, good smoke output...but one thing I found with every one is that they start tasting a bit sour in the last third. I dunno maybe it's my taste buds, or that I am just not a connecticut wrapper guy...but not the best for me. I'll keep them around for an occasional smoke however. I WILL say the construction is exceptional however for a cigar at this price point.

Consistently uneven burning. Too tight. The second half is impossible to smoke due to poor draw and harsh taste. Don't have these issues with any other brands of cigars I own. I wish this info was relayed to Perdomo sales and quality control teams.

I've always purchased the robusto size and finally tried the toro size. Not much of a difference or improvement from the toro. Both are still fantastic cigars, but in the future, I'll stick with the robusto size. The toro does increase the chocolate finish while the robusto brings out the honey/sweetness a bit more.

I always hear about these, people absolutely love them. Personally, I am not a big fan but I'm not a big fan of Connie Shade wrappers in general. I found it to be bland and uninteresting. It has a bit more body and strength most other CT Shade wrapped cigars. If you are a fan of CT Shade, you should try it. If you're not, it probably won't change your mind.

The draw seemed tight at first but it was actually just right. Great amount of smoke with just the right amount of draw. Not too loose nor tight. The burn was excellent as was ash. It lasted quite a long time. Will definitely always keep these around.

Lived up to the hype for sure. I do prefer a more full bodied cigar, but this was very nice. I got hints of cracker, honey, and cream all through this cigar. Also pepper in the retro which was nice. This will definitely be a cigar I buy again and would recommend to anyone.

I like Perdomo and I like torpedo shape. Usually I smoke a less expensive cigar as a daily smoke but thought I'd treat myself to a box of these for a change. They are a great smoke. Slow burning, favorable, long ash, and quite mild. Just what I was wanting for an occasional good cigar. They give that taste of a cigar that reminds me of a Montecristo.

Excellent burn and construction, beautiful looking stick. The flavors are very typical Connecticut shade, sweet toasted bread in the beginning, and then a bit more roasted coffee, creamy and vanilla floral notes after. This thing has quite a kick in strength towards the end though.

Taste and smell wise there’s not much it smells really plain as well as tastes that way too. The presentation looks good. The smoke is very rich and creamy I just think if they had some more flavor to go with it that would’ve made fir a good stick. Bit of a disappointment.

This is the first cigar iv ever even heard of that had tasting notes of actual grapes. Most fruity notes are rather indescribable but this cigar is just incredible. Iv smoked and entire box in the last month.5 and plan to buy more soon. Highly recommend. The toro is a bit much for me however

Most folks are now familiar with Perdomo's biggest seller, the Champagne, but for those who aren't, know that this shade stick adds a dose of spice to the typical, creamy Connecticut sweetness, and strength is a legit Medium, not the usual mild. Champagne fans who already know the above, but who've never tried this size/vitola, should know that more wrapper and a tad less filler means just a bit more sweetness than the 54 ring sizes.

A fine mild cigar, with a decent amount of flavor for being in the 'Mild' category, that pairs well with your morning coffee or that morning round on the links. The draw is rather loose allowing for big plumes of smoke and easy to keep the cigar lit. If that's your thing then this is a cigar for you. A couple of sticks in the box did have some semi-janky burns with large runs. So that may be a bit of a gamble if you're going to purchase just a few singles.

Enjoyed these toro Connecticuts! I typically smoke Connecticuts only in the morning with coffee, but these were very nice in the afternoon, and even the evening (habano). Perdomo is without a doubt up there with the best!!

The Perdomo Champagne Toro is quickly becoming one of my favorite "everyday" sticks. It walks the line of being both light/easy and extremely flavorful for a truly enjoyable smoking experience. Notes of dark cocoa, coffee, and just a tad of black pepper make this one an absolute winner!

Caveat: anything touched by Nick Perdomo's hand is a treat, in my humble opinion. Hell, I'd smoke a tree leaf long filler if it grew at the Perdomo tabacalero. But, the Reserve Champagne is no tree leaf. It is a wonderful vitola no apparent defects. Try one and you'll see.

I don’t smoke too many cigars with this big a ring gauge but every once in awhile a smooth Connecticut is nice. The four cigars are all a little different, a few better than the others. They are all a little fuller than most Connecticut’s and all are good cigars. This selection won’t knock your socks off but a nice travel pack and consistent cigars.

This review is only the 20th anniversary model. Perdomo 20th Anniversary in Churchill. This stick was part of a Perdomo sampler. Having watched a bunch of Nick Perdomo's cigar videos, it seems like this is the stick he most often has in his hand. It looks like a Connecticut wrapper, light tan with a hint of green. outside smell is mild coco and hay. Cold draw is a little on the snug side but acceptable. First puffs are the same coco and hay with a bit of Hazelnut, very mild, and the draw is just fine. Retrohale is easy, no spice, no bite. The band is distinctive, featuring just about every Perdomo trademark. However, it looks like it was sized for a 70-ring gauge cigar thus overlaps itself clumsily. The first inch has me struggling for taste descriptors beyond mild body and good burn. The second inch is developing white bread and orange marmalade without the sweetness. There is also a slight vegital note reminding me of a fresh chile pepper before any spice developes. First third marks flavor and body square in the mild zone. I can see why Mr. Nick carries these around. It's an all-day cigar that won't overwhelm your palate. The first ash held 2 inches. By the middle third, the body is up a tick though still mild and the flavor has become more woody while consistent and still hard to characterize given the lack of distinctive flavors. Burn performance is excellent as I have come to expect from this brand. Got a solid 2 hours of smoke time at a relaxed pace. The profile was consistent, high marks for that and performance. I have to admit being underwhelmed by the flavor though.

Nice little group of different but similar cigars. As a whole, well constructed with a nice easy draw and a nice efficient package that keeps the cigars in good smoking condition. A couple had slight problems with burning evenly and one tasted a little stale but that may be because of the humidity we have been having. I would buy the pack again.

Easy to light and has a steady burn. Be careful pulling off the band. Wrapper has a tendency to come off. Try smoking the cigar to the band. The heat makes the band easier to remove. Nice smoke, easy on the palat and a good after breakfast or golf course cigar. The price allows you to share with friends.

I've been a huge 10th aniversary fan for many years. These are some of the best mild/medium cigars I've ever smoked!! I usually buy the churchhill for a longer experience but these are an excelent choice for a quicker smoke, and they fit in a travel case or shirt pocket much easier. Lot 23 by perdomo are slightly cheaper and very similar in taste, but I prefer the 10th aniversary.

This is a really enjoyable cigar. It has a mild taste, but flavorful. The construction is flawless, not a blemish on the wrapper at all. Burn was pretty darn good and I did not have to relight. Burns fast for the size, took about an hour to smoke. Will be buying more.

This is a beautiful looking stick, even with the cellophane. The burn on it is excellent since I never had to relight it. The flavor is definitely creamy with a nice floral note in there. Great occasional cigar for beginners in my opinion.

A seasoned cigar smoker would probably describe this cigar as having up-front flavors of toasted oak with hints of spice on the first and second third, and then turning to a rather mellow cedar with diminishing spice through the band. He/she would also note a very mild, non-harsh, beer-like bitterness throughout, and a surprisingly uneven burn for a Perdomo cigar. The burn wasn't a significant problem, but it did require a couple of touchups. On the other hand, if you were to give this cigar to a beginner, he/she would undoubtedly describe it as smelling and tasting like a too-smoky campfire. I love the handsome appearance of the tube and the beautiful Connecticut wrapper and I think the strength meter is correct, placing it right on the center of medium. The price is right too... but... overall, this cigar didn't impress me. I would certainly never smoke one around non-cigar-smokers because I think it would only reinforce the stereotype of the "smelly cigar".

I am a heavy user of this cigar and they normally are perfect but this box was disappointing. Only 4 cigars were up to the normal standard wile the rest of the box burned poorly, were dry and hard. While this box was disappointing it will not dissuade me from reordering as they are normally excellent

What has happened to Perdomo quality over the last 4 months? I have been buying these for years at the rate of 2 boxes a month. Recently their quality has gone seriously down hill. Cigars are rolled too tightly, draw poorly and burn unevenly. On many of them you get a horrible tar taste about 1/2 way through and need to discard the cigar. This cigar really surprised me. It was the first Perdomo that I ever tried. It was an amazing smoke. It was smooth and creamy from start to finish. I would strongly recommend this cigar to everyone. If you enjoy full flavored or just beginning this is a cigar for you.

I purchased these cigars for my troops and I that are all in the Wounded Warrior Program here in Virginia. I was told these are cream of the crop...oh how I was told right! I opened the cedar box, which looked and smelled amazing! Each cigar was wrapped in an amber/gold celephane wrapper and packed PERFECTLY! One of my shipmates and I decided to enjoy on of them right away. I slid the cigar out of the celophane and immediately enjoyed the rich earthy and almost nutty aroma of the cigar. Carefully punching and lighting the cigar, using a cedar chip, the draw was perfect! after about 5 or so minutes the flavor consumes your senses. I smoked this cigar for about an hour or more and the taste and aroma are simply amazing. It has a nutty and earthy flavor to it. To finish up I poured myself a cup of Hazelnut coffee. To my surprise this brought out even more of the rich flavor from the cigar! I would recommend this to ANY individual that is celebrating or looking for a very cool, mellow, and relaxing smoke. Out of 5 stars I easily give this a 5 star rating. Well worth the price. I have seen these cigars go for more than $140 dollars on other sites.
