To develop the blend for the Circle of Life cigar, Rick Rodriguez (founder of the West Tampa Tobacco Co) tapped on the shoulders of his long-time mentor Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. When starting out in the cigar industry, Rick learned everything he could about tobacco and cigars from Ernesto. According to Rick, “...reuniting with Ernesto on Circle of Life was an opportunity to connect with my past and lay another brick in my future.” The cigar’s name subtly references the life-long bonds that are formed in the industry as well as with consumers of premium cigars. The Circle of Life cigar features a dark, smooth maduro wrapper and is made of leaves of undisclosed origins. It offers a flavorful, medium-bodied smoking experience that’s perfect for an evening of reminiscing with old friends.
Cigar Origin
Dominican Republic
Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

The West Tampa Tobacco Company Black is a full-strength companion to the milder White. It was created by Rick Rodriguez, who spent 25 years as a brand ambassador and blender for a major cigar company. Rick also has deep family roots in the art of crafting cigars that date back to 1950s Cuba. The Black has a dark, savory Ecuadorian Habano maduro wrapper covering a Nicaraguan Ometepe Habano binder and filler leaves from Esteli and Condega Nicaragua. This specially selected blend offers a bold and immersive smoking experience that will satisfy smokers who are looking for a hearty and flavorful cigar. The cigars are handmade in Nicaragua at the Garmendia Cigar Co. factory.
Cigar Origin
Nicaragua
Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

The West Tampa Tobacco Company White cigar is the creation of Rick Rodriguez, a well-known and greatly admired 25-year veteran of the cigar industry. In 1950s Cuba, Rick’s grandparents were involved in the cigar making business and migrated to Tampa, Florida where they established themselves and their craft. They passed their knowledge and love of tobacco to Rick. The White is a medium-bodied premium that features a smooth pink-hued Habano wrapper covering an Ecuadorian Habano binder and a Nicaraguan filler from Pueblo Nuevo, Ometepe, and Jalapa. With its rich creamy profile, the cigar will appeal to the contemporary as well as the traditional smoker. The cigars are handmade in Nicaragua at the Garmendia Cigar Co. factory.
