Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.

I am a huge fan of the OG tabernacle. As of now the OG is slightly ahead. I grabbed a few of each to compare. In one of the Havana seeds I did get a strong brownie chocolate flavor in the second third. The havana seed seems to be more of a complex blend as suppose to the OG. Both great and good for different moods. Banger.

Quickly becoming my favorite stick on the shelf. The hardest choice i have to make is red label or black label. both are outstanding and leave little if anything to be desired. if you like a full flavored, and full bodied smoke, you're cheating yourself if you don't give this a try.

I got the chance today to enjoy back to back 'The Tabernacle' and this 'Tabernacle' with #142 Havana seed wrapper ... same 5.25/46 vitola. Same libations ... WP 6yr Rye with Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan beer chaser ... same conditions on my front porch here in GA ... only difference was watching the Derby vs watching my favorite MLB team during this 142 blend. The oily sheen of this wrapper earns 5 stars, the aroma coming off this stick is also 5 stars, but most importantly to me was the satiating flavor profile that I found superior to the alternate blend.

Not that I demand perfection, neither do I shy away when it arrives, and this vitola is pretty close. I much prefer this to the original Tabernacle, which is sweeter, darker, and more aggressive. While a totally singular and obsession-worthy cigar, the original Tabernacle has an almost invasive intensity with the Havana Seed blend has smartly dialed-back and opened-up, making for a cigar that feels easier and more natural to appreciate, while still containing power and boldness to spare. This blend has less sweetness and treacly depth, more dry cedar, toasted hazelnut, clove, coffee, and spice. That may sound less attractive on paper, sweetness and depth being prized flavor qualities, but as the original Tabernacle had depth to spare and since sweetness was never its main feature, the adjustment to the formula results in a more elegant balance for this reviewer. There's also the matter of this being an absolutely perfect vitola at 5 1/4" x 46. It's extremely elegant to hold, and the draw is sublime. Of all of the variations in the line, this is the one. The line's extreme shapes, like the 40 ring lancero and the short and stout "Goliath" torpedo, take an already extreme tobacco blend and push it into more extreme dimensions still, which surprisingly come across as less suave and intriguing than the more straightforward vitolas. The toro and robusto from this series are also fantastic, so take your pick, but for me this is the goldilocks of the line which brings out its best qualities and has the best draw (I use a v-cut.) Construction on anything from Foundation is forever flawless. I cannot think of a manufacturer who is more consistent, so you know you're in excellent shape. If you love super strong, complex, unique cigars, this one, my friend, is for you.

Every Xmas and Easter I fire up a Tabernacle pair. The Goliath was good in every way except the draw which was tight and forced me to break out the cigar tool. It drew fine after that with good flavor and a nice steady burn. Can't go wrong with the Tabernacle...

Oh wow, the flavors on this Havana Seed are much different than the standard Tabernacle. This is sharper and spicier, whereas the standard Tabernacle is sweeter. I think they both have their place, but the complexity on this one is calling me back to it.

This was quite a wonderful smoke. I tried it because I like the other Tabernacle so much but I usually smoke a slightly larger format like a Toro. This one has a great, full flavor with lots of dark Roasted notes of coffee and spice. Would buy again but I still prefer the original Tabernacle. This is the second Foundation Tabernacle cigar iv'e smoked, different vitolas, and both were un-smokable. This one tunneled horribly about an inch in and would not correct. I cut it back another inch and same thing. Upon dissection there was a section of the filler that was charred from the foot all the way to the top cut end. The other Tabernacle I smoked many months ago also had major burn problems. Sorry im done with this line from Foundation. Too expensive a cigar for two in a row. Everything alse in the humidor, with a very rare exception burns perfectly.

When Nick Melillo worked for Drew Estate, he created some of the most well known and great tasting cigars around. When he founded Foundation cigars, his legacy grew. Even more so when he created the Tabernacle Havana Seed CT. The oily wrapper of the cigar is the first thing that will catch your attention, dark and rich. At first light, you are introduced to a nice hint of spice, earthy notes and cedar. The aroma it gives off was wonderful. The draw was easy and tasteful. It starts off as a medium-to-full body smoke. Upon retro hale, all of those notes make the cigar come alive, with tastebuds ablaze. At the halfway point, the strength does pick up to a full-body cigar. The spicy notes are still present along with the earthy and cedar notes. With some cigars, either one will diminish. Not here. Towards the end of the cigar, I was astonished with how much flavor and spice was still around. The strength was perfect and welcoming. If you have not had a chance to smoke a Tabernacle cigar from Foundation, I would definitely recommend that you do. It's easily one of my favorite in recent memory.

Mr. M. at Foundation has proven himself and his cigars to be autonomously great in the business. Aside from an occasional odd stem, this is a perfect cigar. Aroma judged prior to lighting; rich and inviting. A month at 69-70% in humidor matures the cigar nicely. I call it a medium plus in strength… an occasional twinge of dark fruit, maybe bit of subtle sweetness, pushes this stogie into the ‘great’ realm. Excellent piece of work Mr. M! Have to state; 92 to 94, this is a honey!

Appearance, smell and construction looked great. The draw and burn were very good. The cigars flavor was just one note for me with not a lot of complexity. I would rather smoke a Le Bijou 1922 or even a Last Call Maduro for a more flavorful experience. I read a lot of good things about this cigar but it left me wanting.

This is one great stick. Chose it on Joaquin's Staff Pick. Full bodied, but calm. Beautiful dark wrapper. The roll is a bit on the tight side so the draw felt like work sometimes. But the slow pace makes for a nice even flavor. If you want to go a bit faster, I suggest you have a V-cutter handy for this one. Clove and cinnamon early on, more peppery toward the end as you might expect. Ash was pretty firm, firmer than most I would say. Joaquin is right, this is a good one if you are used to a more medium bodied cigar and want a change to something more full. A great one to transition on.

The Tabernacle Havana Seed CT No. 142 Robusto has a US Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper that has been fermented for three years, a San Andres binder and a mix of Esteli, Jalapa and Jamastran filler. It is another masterpiece from Foundation. This medium to full-bodied cigar starts with notes of coffee, earth, pepper and orange sweetness. The pepper receded into the background, giving way to notes of earth and coffee. These notes moved into the forefront with the pepper and orange notes settling in the background. During the second third, there was a gradual increase in the pepper. By the midway point, the earth and orange notes played for position to be the top secondary note while the coffee remained grounded in the background. In the last third, I saw the coffee notes remain grounded with the earth and orange still alternating as the main secondary note. This cigar had a beautiful burn with an ideal temperature, and the resulting ash was on the firm side with a mostly silver-grey color to it. The draw was so smooth, it allowed me to enjoy this smoke from the beginning to end. I recommend this cigar for anyone who wants to taste and make the jump from medium to full. Enjoy!

Well constructed cigar with perfect draw and burn, the flavor was unique with a very light retro. There was a lot of smoke production but it seemed more like a medium bodied smoke definitely not as strong as many Nica bombs. I didn't like the flavor as much as other cigars and considering the price this isn't for me but still a great cigar.

Pre-light: Sweet tobacco, nuts, chocolate raisin, hay. 1/3:Lots of red pepper on the front and retrohale. Cedar, wood, jalapeño, cream, nuttiness. Required a touch up. 2/3: Coffee, black pepper, wood, earth, espresso, leather, meaty. Ash held on for just under 30 minutes. Another touch up required. 3/3: Cigar went out on me and required a re-light. Wood, leather and salty earth. Lots of bold flavors. 3rd touch your needed... Seemed like the wrapper was so thick that it caused the cigar to not burn properly. Final smoke time was just over a hour. This stick was just ok. Wanted to like it more and may give it another shot own the road, but lots of $11 cigars I would rather smoke first.

I enjoyed this a lot more than lighter versions from them, and of the regular Tabernacle Toro (which is darker). This was a lovely chocolate brown with a very toothy wrapper. Cold draw was pure chocolate cup-cake. Flavor/Body was medium, though it ramped up in intensity towards the back 1/3. Burn was a little wonky towards the end, and the wrapper split in the final 1/3. Solid baker's chocolate flavor with a perceptible sweetness to it. Lots of smoke. Really quite enjoyable given the price ... not as smooth as a Padron 1926 or 1964, or even the Plasencia Alma Fuerte (Robusto or Figurado), but at 50% of the cost, it's a reasonable stick. Looking forward to trying the 2nd one I bought. Long burn time, great size.

Excellent cigar for 10 bucks. If your a fan of the original Tabernalce, you'll love this one. I found this one to be smother than the original and a tad bit more of sweetness to it.

The Tabernacle Havana Seed is a great smoke experience starting off with that rich cedar, spice and earth that just continue to develop over the thirds. This cigar is not really that complex, but it was very pleasant to smoke as the profile really made you want to go in for the next draw.

Not good. harsh tasting. The cigar was mushy and very soft. Burn was awful. I think it was a rush to get to market. The 3 sizes I tried has same issues.
