The full bodied Air Bender lives up to LFD's reputation for power and spice. The blend is comprised of Dominican filler and binder tobaccos, including some piloto Cubano, Sumatra seed and Corojo, the spiciness of which is complemented with a Habano-seed wrapper leaf grown in Ecuador.

The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuadorian Habano wrapper has become one of the most used cigar wrappers in the market. Grown primarily by the Oliva family, this tobacco originated from Habano or H2000 seeds brought to Ecuador from Cuba. This leaf is rich and flavorful thanks to the temperate climate of Ecuador and the quality of its volcanic soil.

Dominican Republic
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Dominican Republic is a traditional tobacco-growing country. In the 60's, a Cuban seed was introduced and the resulting tobacco, called Piloto Cubano, became famous as a good substitute of the Cuban tobacco that was no longer allowed to enter the USA. Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.

This is a well constructed beautiful and oily cigar. Perfect burn and draw. Mild to medium strength. Very nice nutty sweet flavor. This a a very nice $10 cigar.

This is one I have been meaning to try for sometime and I'm glad I finally did. Full body cigar with phenomenal construction and a great burn. I'm not a fan of spice and initially I thought it would be a little on the spicy side but the spice was subtle in the beginning and quickly faded and the sweet, nutty, and creamy notes took over. The last 2/3 of the cigar was absolutely delicious and its what's going to keep this cigar in my humidor at all times. Very smooth cigar with a nice kick that continues to smooth out as you smoke it. Had it with a cappuccino and couldn't have been happier. If you want an LFD but more on the mellow side this is the cigar for you.

First encounter with a chisel tip. Wrapper leaf has quite a few veins but nice tight seams. Cut up I had heard that you can open with a squeeze but it didn't seem to want to give so I vcut. Feels nice in mouth! Initial flavors are black pepper, saltine cracker, pumpernickel bread and a red pepper finish. Spicy! Burn line has a somewhat chunky char but the ash stack is nice and dense. Second half this is pleasant. The draw is a bit snug but expected and acceptable. Spices mellowed out and there's a nice bready malt. Burn got a little squirrelly and needed a touch-up. Final third was unimpressive. Flavors were muted. Ended my session just at the band. Overall time 90 minutes.

The Chisel is a size that was invented by LFD (La Flor Dominicana), with the idea of not having to cut the head. The result is an extremely comfortable pointed tip with a perfect draw. It has a striking reddish-brown wrapper that is smooth to the touch with one large vein along the back. The dry draw is sweet with just a touch of spice. Upon lighting it, smooth flavors of coffee and spice are present, along with a distinct earthiness. It is an extremely balanced and rich smoke which has LFD's famed strength of body in spades. Every puff brings with it a gratifying amount of smoke, and even a slight note of sweetness to round out the boldness. I would pair this cigar with a strong rum, maybe a Santa Teresa.

I acclimated these sticks for three week before I smoked the "Air Bender". Immediately upon lighting the wrapper started cracking. The cracking continued down the cigar during the entire smoke. That said the cracking did not lead to poor draw. Probably would not order again because of the cracking. We'll see how the others in this sampler pack perform.

Starts off with nice spice and pepper, dark coffee with some sweetness, after the first third turn earthy leathery and looses the sweetness. This is full body either some strength towards the end.

Beautiful and delicious smoke but it was rolled SO tight that it was practically un smokable. Tooth present on exterior of cigar. I initially pinched it open as I have with other LFD chisel’s but could barely even get it lit. Then after a few minutes I cut off a portion of the chisel and that didn’t help at all. Bummer, I gave up on this stick halfway. Not the typical quality I would expect from LFD.

1st third - Starts with bitter nutty/tobacco and black pepper. Bitterness subside about half way through the third and give way to a mostly strong wood flavor with the and some black pepper. 2nd third - Wood note tones down a bit but it's still the dominant flavor. There is also a good dosing of black pepper and spice. Final third - Spice and more spice, with a wood finish.

I'm writing this to revise and update my earlier review. I bought two of these and recently smoked the second. It couldn't have been further from the first one in both quality and flavor. I've never seen inconsistency like this. The flavor was consistently acrid, minerally, and had an overwhelming undertone of concrete. I was shocked. The first cigar was not necessarily my favorite, but was clearly good quality and a fine smoke. The second is one of the worst cigars I've ever smoked. Something went very wrong here, and I think it's important that it be noted.

The manufacturers method of opening rather than cutting the ciga really restricted the draw for me, no matter how much I messed with it and checked online to make sure I was doing it right. Beyond that the stick is solid and full bodied, but with a surprisingly short finish. Would smoke again, but probably not box worthy for me.

I love this stick with it's novel pop off cap. Be careful not to damage the remaining wrapper. The taste is great, nice draw, good smoke, good structure. Taste, as always, is best experienced by venting your exhale partially through your nose, after all, most taste is experienced through smell.

Nice veins on the wrapper, cigar smelled fantastic, another home run for litto gomez. I enjoyed this cigar throughout the whole experience. My first chisel tip and the draw was a little harder than I like. However, I'm going to try to cut it a but different next time and hopefully the experience is just as great.

Interesting La Flor Dominicana cigar. It starts with a rush of pepper and intensity, then mellows out with a almost creamy fruitiness to it. Full bodied, good flavors, but it finishes quite short (to use a wine phrase). Not much flavor in the rear of my mouth. Very unusual for the LFD or at least that I have smoked.

Not my cup of tea... Very strong, a bit bitter, and nothing is more annoying than having the wrapper crack as soon as you light up. Also, you really need to clip off almost a full inch or you feel like FDR with a plastic holder in your mouth - not a great shape.
