Released in 2006, PERDOMO LOT 23 is named after one of Tabacalera Perdomo's prestigious farms located near its factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. The blend is a combination of exquisite filler and binder tobaccos grown exclusively on the Lot 23 farm. After harvesting the tobacco and aging it in bale for four years, the cigars are rolled and aged in one of Perdomo's large aging rooms for another six months.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Colorado is a medium brown color also known as EMS or English Market Selection as this used to be the color with more popularity in England than in America.

Nicaraguan Habano
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Nick, who opened his cigar company in his garage, now oversees over 2000 employees and an 88,000 sq ft factory in Nicaragua. Perdomo cigars are well known all over the world.

The Perdomo Lot 23 Belicoso was one torpedo that hit all its targets. Its smooth, reddish Nicaraguan Habano wrapper ended with an expertly tapered tip. The construction had a nice firmness. At first light, I got a blast of spice that quickly shifted to deep earthy notes with hits of spice and coffee. As this Nicaraguan puro burned, the profile shifted to a mellow creaminess but with subtle spikes of spice. Into the second half, the creaminess and spiciness stayed the course. The finish was woody and nutty. The cigar did have a slight burn issue, but a quick touch-up fixed it. Overall, this medium-bodied cigar strikes an excellent balance between flavor, intensity, and smoothness. This belicoso is an affordable smoke that looks as good as it tastes. Pair it with a coffee and milk, extra sweet.

I have no complaints with this sampler. As a matter of fact i believe the sampler is offered at a good value vs. Purchasing by the single stick. As far as the quality. This is for the Reserve champagne Sungrown cigar in this sampler. Appearance was top-shelf...construction was decent with a 'softness' throughout. V-Cut cigar which produced lots of smoke and ash that held on perfectly. Usual thumbs up for a Perdomo cigar save flavor. Lacking in this department, but otherwise a very decent smoke. Would smoke again for sure.

Bad surprise I smoke cigars almost exclusively and when I have this in a promo pack I thought just one more good Connecticut that I will enjoy. What a surprise! High marks for construction, burn, draw excellent. As far as taste and aroma (all subjective of course), it was too close to an average gas station cigar for my taste (Tasted like a big cigarette). First off, I would like to say that every cigar in this sampler did pretty well. However, I did come across two that did not burn very even and the ash fell off too soon, that was my experience. You may find that your cigars burned differently. The dry draw was good, easy to light. Did not have to touch up many. My taste buds enjoyed the aroma and there was plenty of smoke. Inspire of a couple of flaws these did not dissappoint. Do yourself a favor, try them!!!

It is huge, which is ok, except that they use a ton of glue. If you are like me you like to smoke to the nub. So when you try to remove the label if you are not careful you can rip the wrapper. C'mon Nick really...lighten up on the glue!

The 1st 3rd was very peppery which was a little strong but mellowed out after that and became much more flavorful and more enjoyable. Nutty, creamy with a pitch of pepper. Very nice.

I've had many Perdomo Lot 23s, and they never disappoint. The flavor is more on the milder side, but that is to be expected, and it smokes right down to the nub without any issues. An easy go to for a daily stick.

I was amazed by how strong a nutty flavor this had. Additionally, as a new cigar smoker, the nicotine was a bit more overwhelming than I'm used to, but that probably wouldn't affect a more experienced smoker.

Good everyday cigar

I obtained this cigar a few weeks back in a Perdomo sampler pack. I quickly found it to be the best cigar in the pack. The appearance was very nice and crisp with a clean looking band. I prefer box pressed cigars but would let that slide in the case for this toro. The gauge was a good 50 with a nice hold. The first pull was full of rich and bold flavor that tapered off to a more mild taste. The cigar burned out about 1/2 way in and I needed to relight. From there I no longer needed to relight. I enjoyed it to the very end. I would highly recommend this cigar to someone new to smoking or to someone who does not smoke very often. All that aside it has become one of my favorite go to cigars... Just wish they made it box pressed for me personally.
