Made by Casa Fernandez at their Aganorsa farm in Nicaragua, the JFR Lunatic Maduro is a medium to full-bodied premium cigar that specializes in gargantuan size and sturdy construction. Draped in a dark Mexican San Andres wrapper that covers premium Nicaraguan binder and filler, the Lunatic Maduro burns slowly and confidently, and offers rich notes of coffee, cocoa and leather. Be sure to set aside some time to enjoy this behemoth - you're gonna be a while.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).
Wrapper
Mexican San Andres Maduro
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Mexican tobacco is very dark and the best leaves can be used as maduro wrappers. San Andres Maduro is a thick, medium bodied dark leaf, also called San Andres Morron. Like Connecticut Broadleaf, San Andres Maduro is stalk cut and used for binder and wrapper.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

I bought 5 of these because the price point is too good to pass up. I read that this was on the list of super strong sticks, and that's definitely my jam. The draw is really clean, no burn issues at all. Flavors are deep, strong, and it's definitely worthy of buying a box. At this price, I can't pass it up.

I like the flavors that I get from this cigar and the fact that they last a long time. Plus picking them up and relighting them was easy - not a lot of carbon build up as with other cigars I've tried. They can burn funky (one side burns higher or faster than the other) but if you sit the cigar downs for a few minutes it tends to even up. One cigar so far in this box did not and I lost about 1/3 of it due to that.

very very smooth smoke and although some large gauge smokes can lack depth and flavor because they have such a high filler too wrapper ratio, this guy does not disappoint. This Cigar is impressive. Massive ring gage, short and solid. The rings and foil adorn a perfect wrapper with no seams or veins. My giant table V cut did a relatively minuscule incision on the cap, it was enough for a perfect draw. Almost Everything about this cigar is Amazing. Aroma before lighting is faint. Once lit the draw adjusts, tightens to an even better smoke volume. Flavors are potent, moist earth and spice envelope every draw. Burn stared ok, but deteriorated, uneven, had to touch up twice, and on the last third had to relight but it did not diminish the experience. It was a very long smoke, which I prepared for, as such it packs a punch, very high nicotine content which left my guest a little dizzy. Enjoyed it thoroughly from toast to nub, paired with several full bodied beers, most cigars would have lost the flavor battle, but not El Chiquito. If you can afford the Time, it is worth it, Enjoy in Good company.

After lighting I got definite notes of dried fruit. Wet earth, leaves, and tobacco on the retrohale. Slightly uneven burn but nothing crazy. Slight sweetness on the lips from the wrapper, not like a sweetened tip but sweet none the less. Good smoke output, Mild and creamy. Into the second third there are more fragrant notes maybe cedar. Cool smoke, perfect draw, burn evened itself out with no help. Smoke time about an hour fifteen. Great smoke! Will definitely buy again!

Not very good, there is a reason 6x60 took years for them to figure out how to have them burn right. Not quite there with these. Burn was awful, hard to find a cutter to cut this size. Tastes were very burnt and smokey, as if puffing on a campfire. Would not buy again

JFR Lunatic El Chiquito Maduro When guys talk about cigars, they all say size matters. Well, let me tell you that when it comes to this cigar, that does not imply. The name of the cigaris El Chiquito, meaning small. But it is packed with a lot of flavor and strength. Besides the size, the oily and dark wrapper is also an eye catcher. Upon lighting it, the Mexican San Andreas wrapper introduces you to a nice cedar and woody flavor. It starts off as a medium to full body flavor. A little spice is present at first. Half way throgh the cigar, the spices does deminish a bit. But the cedar and woody flavor are still present. At this point, the strength does go up to a full body taste. The flavors and strength are consistent from mid point til the end. For such a small cigar, it does pack a big punch. It will be crazy for those full body smokers to pass this up. Enjoy

A large cigar for savouring. Pepper develops throughout, but not unpleasantly (unless you rush it). Draw can sometimes be on harsher side but usually ok and easily remedied with a tool. More complex than Asylums...I like both.

Another great giant cigar...Has a very smooth taste to it, that really ramps up toward the end...Takes quite a bit of time to smoke, (just under 3 hours)! And the burn was kinda wonky requiring multiple touch-ups...But overall being pretty good considering the size! One of the good features on this stogie is since it has the torpedo shape, it allows a regular cutter to be used and makes a smaller mouthpiece. That way it doesn't feel like your trying to jam a huge log in your mouth...I prefer this smoke over say Asylum 13's 8x80...Don't be shy, try it!
