Illusione Cigar’s founder and owner Dion Giolito’s The Group of Five is a line composed of five vitolas (sizes) using the same blend, which is shrouded in secrecy and everyone involved in its creation is keeping a tight lip. The line’s slogan “Whispering tongues are treachery” (written in both English and Latin) alludes to the secretive nature of this Nicaraguan release. Very little of it is known. The only thing being released about the blend is that it uses viso tobacco along with criollo ’98 and corojo ’98 tobacco leaves that were sourced from farms owned by Aganorsa Leaf. The tobaccos were carefully selected by Dion himself, and they were aged for 3 years prior to rolling. Dion is not ready to tell the full story of The Group of Five, but he hinted he will in the near future. Stay tuned.
