La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor Reserva is handmade for Ashton by Pepin and Jaime Garcia in Nicaragua, using a stunning dark "Oscuro" Mexican wrapper and a blend of aged Nicaraguan tobaccos. This full bodied cigar has been described as rich and decadent, with flavors reminiscent of chocolate, spice, and cedar. The Mi Amor Reserva cigars are loosely box pressed.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

Mexican
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Mexican tobacco is very dark and the best leaves can be used as maduro wrappers. In San Andres de Tuxtla (in the state of Vera Cruz), there is a very interesting production of Sumatra seed wrappers. Dark air cured tobaccos are produced in Mexico, mainly in Vera Cruz and Tampico provinces, on the East Coast along the Gulf. There is also some production in Yucatan. Mexico's volcanic soil yields tobacco that is spicy and earthy, with a very distinctive flavor.
Binder
Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

The "Garcia Family Industrial Park" located in Esteli, Nicaragua is a seven-acre complex with 9 buildings, over 1900 employees, where the Garcias supervise their cigar production from the tobacco field to the roller's table. Their Miami headquarters house 12 rollers that make all of the company's "handmade in Miami" brands.

I had an ugly sample, discolored veins running all around... But boy this was good. I was not thrilled by the regular Mi Amor and after seeing this one I was sceptical, but rich, smooth, creamy, incredibly well balance flavors of leather, cedar, sweetness like nutty chocolate! This is a must!

Firm construction, open draw, very uneven burn in the first half requiring several touchups. Burn evened out after a while and was fine. Full bodied with good thick blue-gray smoke output with flavors of woodsy cedar, bittersweet dark chocolate and black coffee with a nice peppery kick.

Such a great cigar. Last box I had I kept 2 or 3 aside and just left them. 6-7 years later, the wrapper was dark dark tinted, and the cigar smelled amazing. They age so well if that's what you're looking for. Smell amazing.

What an amazing cigar. Slightly peppery taste with some mild throat catch, in a good way, when you want a little bit more of a character smoke, now and then. Had some issues with the head peeling with a v-cut but once glued down the cigar performed nicely with a full open draw and mostly consistent burn. I prefer the maxima but I enjoyed this size as well.

It's everything you're expecting. This is the older, jail hardened, scarface smoke, the Resevera; a full flavor spice bomb. I had the Reserva last weekend and I still have the lingering kiss of the devil. Truth be told, this one had me outside feeling warm watching the stars for 2 hours in the 59° weather. This is the heater of all heats. You get bursts of chocolate fudge brownie between fried Cuban fire flakes of red and black burnt ghost pepper. The flavor is somewhat extrasolar and hard to peg because the transition is strong from light up to finger burns. At first, it was almosy a buffalo pretzel falvor that toned down into dark fudge in the 2nd/3rd. By the final third, every puff was different and i couldn't peg the flavor. I WILL be trying this one again but with a full stomach and oven mits on!

This is a nice way to try both of these lines and I have always been interested. I've tried one of each and they are probably and ok purchase at about $8/stick. Flavors are nice but for me not nice enough to buy in for a box of either.

Excellent sampler, not a dud in the bunch. The San Cristobals struck me as medium and creamy with the monumento coming in nutty and a cocoa element with the revelation. The LADC robusto was med-full with a woodiness and the MI Amor reserva employs my fav blend of San Andres over Nicaraguan fillers. The MI Amor and MI Amor reserva are my favs but you can't go wrong with any of the five.

Sorry, tried these a few years ago and was not impressed and I am not now. Very well made and pretty but a very flat and uneventful flavor. I will leave them in the humidor for a couple of months hoping for some maturation… but I was curious so I tried them again, likely not again. It is not rich in flavor… very middle of the road stick… not even an 85 rating!

This is my first time smoking this cigar. I like the La Aroma de Cuba cigars, they Mi Amor Reserva starts of with tastes of earth, a pepper and cedar spice. As you get into the second third, flavors of black coffee and a cocoa come through. The last third creamer flavors of coffee and cocoa continue. This cigar is rated as full but I would say it is more medium-full. Very enjoyable and the burn and draw continue to improve. Would definitely smoke this again.

La Aroma Reserva is a very special smoke and I even hesitate to do a review on them because I don't want them to ever go out of stock when you find out what a great smoke they are for the price!.

Intense spice bomb with layered baker's chocolate. Almost a habanhero spiciness, that only started to get matched by a richer complexity in the final 1/3. If you want an intense little stick, you won't be disappointed -- but too intense for me, without the creamier smoothness I was hoping for. Will see how the 2nd one ages.

This was the second "La Aroma" I have tried and loved them both. Appearance, Draw and Aroma were all excellent. Burn was good through the first 2/3 but got a little off towards the end and even went out once. Overall nothing to really complain about. Taste was very good and def one I will be sure to stock in the future.

Once again, I'm a sucker for a beautiful presentation. I was drawn to this cigar, not by the rating, but by the beautiful wrapper leaf and the eye-catching band. Maybe you actually can judge a book by its cover... this is a wonderful cigar with bold full flavors of leather and black pepper. The draw was perfect and the burn was flawless. It smoked all the way to the nub with wonderfully smooth, buttery and robust flavors. I will certainly be buying this again! Try pairing this cigar with a well made Rob Roy on the rocks.

This cigar is the best cigar out of the whole ladc line. It is definitely worth a try if you have smoked the other ladc cigars and enjoyed them. I can say the taste is excellent and everything pretty much follows.

It was a great looking cigar, good easy draw, clean even burn, only corrected once in the 2/3 of the stick. Flavor complexity was lacking too earthy for me. last third had a bit more notes of almond and dark chocolate.

Burn line self corrected, slight nicotine buzz Some people get a mint note but I can't detect it Overall the flavors could be bigger but it is a smooth smoke Final 1/3 This stick can take the abuse of not going hot when hit to fast, nice trait All the flavors seem to blend but fading together, this was the better of the La Aroma de Cuba brand I've had but not my cup of tea.
