This full bodied Nicaraguan puro was made in honor of Jose "Pepin" Garcia's father who was born in Cuba in 1922. The cigar is bold, strong, and beautiful with its very dark oscuro wrapper.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

Nicaraguan Habano
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

The "Garcia Family Industrial Park" located in Esteli, Nicaragua is a seven-acre complex with 9 buildings, over 1900 employees, where the Garcias supervise their cigar production from the tobacco field to the roller's table. Their Miami headquarters house 12 rollers that make all of the company's "handmade in Miami" brands.

Finish was on the long end of the spectrum. Moderate-full strength. I’ve heard some complaints about the draw, but my experience was near perfect. A little bit of a jag in the burn line, but everything else about this cigar made up for it.

Amazing flavor but somewhat difficult to describe. I am picking up cedar and oak, a small bit of pepper, a small bit of cocoa and cinnamon, with a wonderful raisin like sweetness and gorgeous tobacco. However there's not one that really stands out because they are all blended so effortlessly into a beautiful new flavor building to complement each other. This is smooth even smoke that is almost too easy to be full body, though it is rich and has some strength. Awesome stick!

Outstanding. Don’t let the shorter length fool you these bad larrys will still get you a good 30-40 minute burn. Medium plus bodied throughout. Big notes of somewhere between peanuts and cashews. Had a couple with some burn issues that required touch ups but overall reliable and solid construction. Would recommend to a friend.

It was okay but I expected more because of it being mentioned in a few cigar places as mid 90 scores. It wasn’t bad or anything but not special at all. Was a little bit hard to stay lit. Draw was adequate but I had to clip it 2x. Humidity at time of smoking was 69.

Exceptional cigar! Less bold and strong compared to the other sizes in this blend. I usually don't like ring gauges larger than 50, but this surprised me with more balance, complexity and transitions. Cocoa, coffee and roasted nuts, light pepper, construction was on point, creamy smoke output. I just couldn't find anything negative to say about this stick. Also a great value at this price. Box and gift worthy.

Le Bijou, or "the jewel" is somewhat of a powerhouse of a stick. The bright orange foot band wrapped around its dark Nicaraguan Oscuro wrapper can almost be perceived as a Jolly Roger announcing to all that there shall be no mercy / no quarter offered. Perhaps that is exactly what drew me in. Upon lighting, the most prominent notes that stood out were white pepper and leather. As it burned, the complexity increased, bringing espresso bean, earth, cocoa and fig into the mix. Though subtle, I detected black cherry and molasses throughout as well. The cigar is very well packed, the construction is excellent and I did not experience any serious issues with the burn, despite that fact that I enjoyed it most recently on a windy night. While good anytime once you've got some food in your belly, I find that it makes for an excellent late afternoon or evening smoke along side a glass of scotch or even port. Cheers!

I did not let this one rest in humidor, but overall it was a very enjoyable cigar. Lonsdale is my go to size and Le Bijou has always been one of my favorite blends so it only made sense to try this new size out. I am glad I bought a box since it is a limited run. A little north of good but a bit south of great. It’s a great looking cigar so I was excited at first. It lit pretty easy and started out just fine. Flavor was good and draw was okay. I thought it was a bit tight but I didn’t need a draw tool. However, it started tunneling about halfway through and I had to touch it up several times after that. Wasn’t too impressed and probably won’t purchase again since I already have a couple of favorites and Le Bijou simply didn’t make the list.

Another classic and probably Pepin's swan song. It may get a bad rep for being overpowering (which can easily be mitigated by taking your time between puffs), and in the last few years they've been sometimes hit or miss, this is still a cigar that you should have a few on hand. It's a tiny cigar, but certainly doesn't smoke like one. The balance of spice and creamy chocolate is what helped define the modern era of Nicaraguan cigars. Hopefully, this cigar will continue to be made for many years to come with the same level of quality as when it first came out.

Very clean and surprisingly mild on first draw. Bit of a tight draw, no sweetness, good consistent burn. Nice dark chocolate notes on second/third draws with a pleasant clove/cinnamon finish. Slight almond/coffee notes with a hint of cedar. Pairs well with rum/bourbon/port, adding a touch of sweetness to the experience ... rum over bourbon in my opinion. Recommend Kasama 7yr or Bacardi 8/10yr which have all have notes of pineapple.

I usually like to try cigars which win cigar of the year and sometimes I am underwhelmed. In this case I thought the 96 points was a harsh score. This really is not box worthy, it is crate worthy!! I always make sure I have some resting in my limited humidor space because they are essential to my rotation

My Father Le Bijou is one of my favorite cigars, though this is the first time I tried the Churchill size. Compared against the torpedo, this one was rather disappointing for me. Draw was often tight and the burn uneven. The signature white pepper was very subdued and the cigar had a more molasses and vanilla taste.

The best 30 minutes of my day every time I flame one of these. Super consistent in construction and taste. A lot of smoke for minimal $. The petite robusto is the best size in the line as far as burn, draw and consistency. One of my go-to morning or afternoon smokes. Plenty of punch in a small package. A great tailgate cigar!

one of my absolute favorite vitolas in this line. savory dark fruit sweetness. fresh cracked black pepper, deep earthy dark espresso notes. Freakin! Heaven! How is this stick rated in the 80s. my guess would be some inconsistency in burn and draw. some cigars are rolled a particular way as part of their design and pedigree and occasionally these may have some sideways burns and tight draws. but well worth the effort. absolutely box worthy and decent price point. smoke time can average 30 to 45 min. depending upon how fast you smoke. take your time and appreciate the intentional design of the firmer draw on this cigar.

First time smoking the 1922 in this vitola. As expected, flavor was off the charts, full of the spicy goodness synonymous with the blend. If I'm honest, I think the Bijou shows best in some of the other vitolas, particularly the Grand Robusto. Perfect construction and just a wonderful smoking experience.

First off, this is a beautiful cigar: dark, oily wrapper with expected notes of cocoa and baking bread. It burned almost razor-sharp for 2hrs+ without touch-ups. The flavor was remarkably consistent almost through the entire stick, a mix of baker's chocolate and mild black pepper ... with a "dry" character (in the way red wine is dry) without creamy sweetness, so note to the reader if that's what you like vs. prefer something a little sweeter/creamier. As I lean towards the creamier/sweeter side, it was a little under my preference - but if you like that drier approach, it's a 5-star deal. The best part was the medium-to-full body without devolving into the classic My Father "spice bomb" territory -- I only started to "feel the burn" close to the nub. Have a second one in the humidor to see how it develops with time. Worth a try.

Good cigars presented in a nice box. The bonus cutter is cheap but effective. It cuts well. The lighter is basically a cigarette lighter, not a torch. It gets the job done but nothing more. Buy this for the cigars, not the extras.

The aroma is spectacular, the burn is slow and pretty sharp. Did have one of the five I purchased turn out to be a real dog, but the rest were fine. Chocolate, sweet hay, dark roast coffee, and just the right amount of pepper.

The presentation is outstanding, unfortunately the one I selected had a hard knot in the last third of the stick. (will update and change the review later as i progress through the box). This caused it to canoe from the draw. I didn't fully inspect it so had to walk back for a lighter to fix the burn. Flavor - I love it - and will repurchase as a regular stock item in the humidor. Great for a cold night and rain. Smooth and full flavor and pleasant after taste. Thinking it will pair well with salmon for dinner.

Very nice smoke with complex tastes throughout. Wood, leather, chocolate, nutmeg with a hint of barnyard near the end. Two thumbs up.

Typical high quality you would expect from My Father brand. These have a very nice appearance and i really like the torpedo plus box pressed. I bought a box for my special reserve. tTey are too pricey to smoke every day. I smoked one out of the box when I got it, but the draw was harder than others I have had. So I will let these age in the humidor for while before I burn another one. Overall these are wonderful cigars that you can smoke down to the nub.

I love this brand. I've tried the Connecticut, the Centurion H2KCT and Le Bijou. Everyone of them, in my opinion, five stars and a personal favourite. This sampler pack is a great way to try some of the other My Father brands and peak my curiosity without breaking the bank. Who knows, maybe I'll find another great cigar to add to my favourites list. The free cutter and lighter is also a nice touch.

My favorite stick in terms of flavor, boldness and value. The oscuro wrapper really shines in this viola compared to the other sizes. While bold, it's very smooth from start to finish, and has minor transitions between each third. Really attacks the back of the mouth with a long finish. Not recommended for the faint of heart, and some may need s one sugar on standby to offset boldness. An excellent pairing with darker coffees. Exceptional construction, appearance and burn.

This is the best balanced "Bijou" line entry from My Father that I have tasted. It remained incredibly strong from start to finish. I had it a day after an Ashton, and the difference was palpable - the Ashton was all coffee-and-cream smoothness, and the My Father Torpedo hit like, well, a torpedo of spice and cedar. It never got harsh, though it skirted the edge. Beautiful rustic look to the roll and the wrapper. Worth trying. I have some more on order to age and see how they go.

Beautiful Oily stick with an elegant band. Draw was very good and the initial flavors through the first third were enjoyable. After a bold and peppery beginning, this cigar settled into an unexpectedly light/medium bodied smoke with dominant flavors of toast, hazelnuts and tangy cedar. Several flavor transitions kept it interesting and a tight pack and perfect draw made for a very slow burn and surprisingly long smoke. The burn was problematic with a tendency to tunnel. It required quite a bit of attention and several touchups to keep the wrapper burning in balance with the filler. Kudos to MF for the beautiful graphics! I absolutely love the presentation of the band and the box! My strength-o-meter didn't match the published reading. I'd put it closer to the medium mark.

This is an exceptional cigar with which I am entirely pleased. Impeccable construction, consistent feel when I roll it prior to lighting and a clean consise cut that held up withno cave-in or withering. The draw was perfect from lighting to the 1" remaining point, no variance. I found this a surprise as almost all high-quality cigars I have tried in the past two years present an initial draw challenge. The flavor of this cigar was masterful, bold, rich and clearly quantified my praise. The smoke off the cigar was a bountiful "blu-ish" tone and overall produced a noticably greater quantity and quality of smoke. I cannot say much about Aroma, the flavor overrides Aroma. I will buy more, this is a tremendous cigar and I believe it would fall in excess of 94 by any evaluator. Excellent, very Excellent Cigar, rare quality!

Love the My Father lineup and this is one of their best. The taste is great, toasty, thick, woodsy, everything I expect. However, at this price I thought they would have corrected the tunnel issue that I consistently find in My Father cigars. It's such a shame because the taste is so great, but the frustration of voids in the filler leaves makes the burn almost impossible at times. Great smoke, but at that price I'd go with the Cedros Deluxe instead.

I really enjoyed this cigar and ordered a couple more for my humidor. It seemed to have less pepper than the average My Father cigar, which I liked. It was extremely smooth all the way through. The flavor profile really started to pick up about 1/3 through the cigar. Lots of dense white smoke as well.

Le Bijou 1922 is an incredibly rich, full-bodied cigar. A cigar of deep complexity, with notes of spice and cedar, espresso, and aged tobacco, it is challenging to analyze because there are so many competing impressions on the palate. I found the petite robusto to be the perfect size (I usually prefer Churchills or Toros) because of its strength. Definitely a cigar for my short list of desert island smokes!

Wonderful cigar! Full flavor, nice blend, smooth. Drew exceptionally well, burned evenly, consistent all the way to the end. Plus, it looks like a million bucks! Great to share with friends you want to impress!

This is the very first box pressed cigar in the My father line. The appearance is 5 star with a beautiful Oscuro wrapper. I found this cigar to be medium body with flavors of pepper normally found in my father or Pepin cigars, coffee, chocolate and nuts. This cigar did not need to be re lit and has a smoking time of about an hour.

Somewhat tight draw but very worth the price. Due to the lineage I expected that "aha" moment but it smoked like a couple of non-heritaged smokes I've had. I would buy again to see if it gets better.
