This brand, originally made in Cuba, was named after a 19th century politician (proclaimed greatest Senator in American history), Henry Clay (1777-1852). The label on the box shows the original Henry Clay factory in Havana. Today the brand is manufactured by Tabacalera de Garcia in Dominican Republic.
Cigar Origin
Dominican Republic
Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

Wrapper
USA Connecticut Broadleaf
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Connecticut Broadleaf is grown in the United States' Connecticut Valley and is prized for its dark, oily, full flavored and aromatic characteristics. The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.
Binder
Dominican Republic
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.Â
Dominican Republic is a traditional tobacco-growing country. In the 60's, a Cuban seed was introduced and the resulting tobacco, called Piloto Cubano, became famous as a good substitute of the Cuban tobacco that was no longer allowed to enter the USA. Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.
Filler
Brazil
Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.
Brazil produces rich, medium to strong, dark tobaccos with a sweet taste and aroma. Most of the cigar production is concentrated on the eastern coast of Brazil, in the state of Bahia.

Altadis' group of master blenders, known as the Grupo de Maestros, have revamped the legendary Henry Clay brand with a blend featuring Dominican and Nicaraguan vintage tobaccos and a stalk cut Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The stalk cut method of harvesting tobacco is a method used in Connecticut farms where the tobacco is harvested by cutting the entire plant at the stalk and hanging the plant in the curing barns, as opposed to the traditional method of harvesting the tobacco leaf by leaf while leaving the plant intact. This harvesting method makes for rich, flavorful tobacco. Henry Clay Stalk Cut is surely a modernized version of the Henry Clay cigar.

Wrapper
Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.
Binder
USA Connecticut Broadleaf
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.Â
USA Connecticut Broadleaf tobacco is grown in the Connecticut River Valley area. The soil in this region is of glacial origins. The tobacco is dark, oily, flavorful, and aromatic. It is used primarily as a maduro wrapper, but it also serves as an excellent binder.

The Henry Clay War Hawk Rebellious is the second release in the War Hawk series. The brand is named after Henry Clay, a Senator from Kentucky, who was the ninth U.S. Secretary of State during the 1800s and considered one of the greatest senators in American history. The Henry Clay War Hawk Rebellious is a potent, full-bodied cigar that is handmade in Nicaragua at AJ Fernandez’s Tabacalera Fernandez factory. This Nicaraguan puro sports a chocolatey Habano maduro wrapper that covers a Nicaraguan binder and filler to deliver a complexity of flavors that is indicative of Nicaraguan tobacco.
Cigar Origin
Nicaragua
Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.
