Drew Estate has blended a cigar that is unique in every way. Using Kentucky Fired Cured tobacco, traditionally used for chewing or pipe tobacco, Drew Estate's MUWAT Kentucky Fire Cured (KFC) has a distinct "barbecue" aroma that comes from the hickory, maple, and oak wood used for fire in the curing barns. For 5 years Drew Estate has worked with this never-before-been-used-for-cigars tobacco to ensure a balanced blend with Nicaraguan fillers from Jalapa and Esteli.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Mexican tobacco is very dark and the best leaves can be used as maduro wrappers. San Andres Maduro is a thick, medium bodied dark leaf, also called San Andres Morron. Like Connecticut Broadleaf, San Andres Maduro is stalk cut and used for binder and wrapper.

Brazil Mata Fina
Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.
Brazil produces rich, medium to strong, dark tobaccos with a sweet taste and aroma. Most of the cigar production is concentrated on the eastern coast of Brazil, in the state of Bahia. Mata Fina tobacco is grown in a region in the Reconcavo Basin of the State of Bahia called Mata Fina (which translated means "thin plants"). Tobacco was one of the natural crops in the region.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

I've been smoking the Kentucky Fire Cured Flying Pig 4" for many years, it's pretty much all I order from Neptune. Unfortunately, the latest batch I ordered did NOT have the flavorful smokey-barbecue taste or aroma that I have grown to love about this stick. It was completely dull, light and flavorless. Bad batch perhaps, maybe the curing process was rushed, who knows? Also, this time these sticks burned VERY fast, which was unusual.

So, lol, what can I say. The smell of the cigar before lit smells like a campfire. No joke. Lit up it actually has a very pleasant aroma and the draw is good, flavour is good, burns well. Not much to complain about. The wrapper is thicker leaf than most but it’s fine for a very well priced cigar. NOTE: IMPORTANT, haha, I actually purchased a cheap-o humidor to house these little campfire sticks and I will be buying them again because they’re great — but do not put them in the same humidor as your other cigars, it will be a big mistake. But I liked them enough to get another humidor so that says something right?

I really love these cigars. They smell great and last a long time. I was worried because of their size that they would only last a puff or two but I was pleasantly surprised to find that they burn slowly and I was able to enjoy one for 40 minutes or more. I ordered these from Canada and the shipping went smoothly and the duties and taxes weren't that bad either. I wish I could get these at my local tobacconist shop but I will order more from Neptune when I run out. I can't wait to try the sweets variety next time!

Love the flying pig shape cigars. This one surprised me a bit. Keep in mind that I do prefer full body cigars, but I wanted to try this one. First off you can definitely smell and taste the fire cured tobacco. Not a very strong cigar in my opinion. The draw was tough with very little smoke. Flavor was also very light in my opinion (couldn't get much flavor). The burn was very even and slow with hints of pepper showing up towards the end. Overall a good cigar, and great for people that like medium bodied cigars.

What a great cigar. First taste of the wrapper on the tongue was reminiscent of a good smokey pipe tobacco. Very pleasant, smooth flavor that mildly and pleasantly increased in strength throughout, with a good and slow even burn.

love the fire cured taste and smell as it has no "fake additive flavor taste". as you near the end, the cigar wont stay lit but it is a great ring gauge for times when you dont have an hour to smoke.

Very unique tasting cigar with a great easy draw. Flavors of scotch, peat and barbecue with a slight bite through the whole smoke. This small cigar last an hour plus!

Decent stick, if you like Toscano you’ll like this. Lots of BBQ notes, very Smokey goes well with bourbon. Virtually no pepper notes, good time to use this is during summer time. Burn started to go lop sided had to manually correct several time. Aroma is that of smoked meat/open fire.

This little Kentucky were a hard decision to me, cold smell is like jerky or horse stable, but when you are smoking them, it taste like smoked wood. it has a good taste, better when you are cooking something on outdoors

Such a unique, full flavored cigar. I break them out at bonfires and in the Fall during the pumpkin spice season. It's a very hearty cigar which is like no other. I find this vitola to be a little less flavorful than the smaller vitolas, but enjoy it very much.

Picked this one up as I'm on a mission to try all the drew estate offerings. Wasn't sure about the smell of the.cigar at first but glad I lit it up. Attractive and well constructed with a classy old west style band. Employs two of my favorite tobaccos in the San Andres and Mata fina which along with the band and smoky flavor give this smoke some character. A little firm on the draw and canoed on the burn at first but evened itself out. Looking forward to another one next time by the firepit. A smoke well worth the price point.

Apparently as others have described it; you either love it or hate it. I love the taste of this stick. You have to be patient and mindful though, it is a very slim Cigar, it WILL burn hot if you smoke it like a corona or such.

It's a good stick. Not a regular smoker for me. You can really taste the curing smoke in the stick. Probably be good when you're grilling already. Put it this way, I'd smoke another one.

I huffed and I puffed and I blew this little summer sausage down! Yes the unique flavor of this corpulent little swine had me running wee wee wee all the way home. It is a little like buying a pig in a poke if you haven’t experienced one yet, but you’ll feel you’re eatin’ high on the hog once you fire one up and rest assured you’ll be happier than a pig in $h!t. In all seriousness I wouldn’t eat a steady diet of these fat little porkers but it’s a very nice diversion from the norm. Th th th that’s all folks!

Really disappointed in this cigar. I ordered 3. 2 of them I couldn’t smoke. They were rolled way to tight to get a draw. I did mange to burn one and I loved the taste. Very smoky taste which I love. Would make for a perfect bbq quick stick but I’m concerned about the quality. Luck of the draw I suppose. Good price point but it’s still disheartening to order 3 and only be able to smoke one of them. Might order more someday.
