The Perdomo Habano Bourbon Barrel Aged is one of the most beautiful cigars created by Nick Perdomo, the band is impressive as is the packaging, and the cigar itself, which is made of tobaccos grown in Nicaragua by the Perdomo family, is absolutely gorgeous. The maduro wrapper used in the making of this cigar has aged for 6 years, with an additional 14 month aging in bourbon barrels. As for the flavor, this is a sweet maduro that will deliver medium to full bodied flavor without the spice. A very smooth, high quality smoke at a reasonable price.

Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

I was a bit disappointed in the box I received. I previously tried a sample of a shorter version of this cigar and it was outstanding. I also bought a box of the Perdomo Habano Connecticut churchill version of this cigar and it was also great. This box was perhaps too wet. After leaving the box out of the humidor for a few weeks, the cigar is much better. I'm thinking of aging the remainder of the box.

Dark, oily, flawless draw!

This was my first Maduro and only so take this with a pinch. Exceptional presentation, I always get compliments on them when smoking (not that it matters) Draw can be a touch loose, I'm thinking I need to v cut but can't comment. Pre light draw has great flavours, leather and coffee with some cedar oakiness. 1/3rd a bit peppery for me but this settled down 2/3rd mellow and deep coffee with some chocolate. Actually got some off brand cocopop notes with a toasty wood. 3/3rd that pepper comes back with some spice. Full body at this point but still smooth enough for me who only had a cigar on occasions. Never had a bad burn, Great construction, Great flavour at its price But again my palette is limited due to I usually smoke Cubans, and DOM-R's and not usually maduro. Bought a box and don't regret it.

Man! Let’s just start by saying this stick is full of rich flavor. I've seen plenty of people purchasing this cigar throughout my time at the store, so I couldn't help but quench my curiosity. From start to finish, I was loving this full bodied Nicaraguan cigar. Exploding with notes of nuts, cedar, and dark chocolate this one can be a fan favorite for most! I was even greeted with some spice and raisins mid way through, and for being under $10 this definitely meets the criteria for almost all smoker's budgets, packing authentic flavor for a great price! In fact, this is a perfect candidate for a good and reliable daily smoke. This being a robusto size cigar, you truly can appreciate all the nuances and flavors intended to hit the palate offering the smoker the best experience. Stellar cigar. Great full flavor without being the least bit harsh, with a nice slow and even burn. The draw was a bit tight at the outset, but not a problem. If I had one beef, as has been my experience with other Perdomo cigars, the band sticks to the wrapper in one place and you have to be careful when it comes time to deband.

These are labeled as toro size but they are large ring gauge sticks. For me the large ring gauge sticks are too airy muting the flavors.

I took this cigar out of the cello and immediately smelled milk chocolate and dried fruit. Kinda like a Cadbury bar. The first third didn’t offer me much more than tobacco and dry earth, but going into the second third there are notes of tobacco and cocao. There is an occasional zing but no real pepper to speak of. It had a bit of an uneven burn, but nothing to affect the experience. Great smoke output, medium body. Into the final third, the smoke has gotten much creamier. Flavours remain constant. Pretty good cigar

Beautiful presentation and label, in the pre-smoked excellent smell and flavors with predominance of chocolate and sweet notes. Discreet flavors of coffee, tea and tobacco. Draw a little open even with hole, white ash and a lot of smoke. Little evolution, showing a bit of spyce and no bitterness.

Nick and his team have another winner with this cigar! From beginning to end, the stick was a pleasure to smoke. I detected a bit of cocoa and rich, earthy taste. I paired this stick with an espresso - it was a perfect combo. The only negative thing I can say is, the cap decided to come off even though I used a punch cutter. This is one cigar(a box) I would definitely have in my humidor.

Some I really like a lot others not at all. I especially do not like the Reserve Champagnes - too harsh with no redeeming flavor. The reserve Champagne NOIR is excellent though, as is the Lot 23.

Love this cigar but for some reason when I smoke it,it gives me an ich in my throat,I thought it was something else but tried it a second time and had the same reaction but love this gar and would smoke it again,suckered for bad treatment LOL

Wow! Big and rich flavors of molasses, malt, and buttered toast. Generous smoke output and a perfect draw. This cigar burned as perfectly as any cigar that I have ever smoked. Medium to full in body, but low to medium in strength. The ash held on tight for a good two inches at a time. This is a slow burner. It took me over two hours to get to the nub. Try pairing this cigar with a sip of Irish Cream. A sweet creamy drink is the perfect compliment to those naturally sweet tobaccos from the Jalapa Valley. This is definitely a buy-a-box cigar. Keep 'em coming Perdomo!

Is this the same cigar that went by the same name a couple of years ago? The packaging looks identical but with the addition of color graphics on the bands. Last night I took one of the older ones out of my humidor to give it a try. It started out with pleasant notes of toasted oak with a nice nuttiness. The draw was on the tight side. The burn was problematic. Remember, this was one of the older generation cigars that I was smoking. Perhaps in the newer generation, these issues have been corrected. I'm looking forward to trying them! I'm a huge Perdomo fan and am usually blown away by the exquisite flavor and perfect performance of their cigars!
