Rocky Patel's Java Latte cigars are made by flavored cigar giant Drew Estate using an infusion of cocoa and espresso coffee beans to add delicious aroma to a mix of premium Nicaraguan tobaccos. The Ecuador Connecticut wrapper of Java Latte cigars balance out the smoke with added creaminess.

Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.

Corojo wrapper was first developed in Cuba in the 1930s and quickly became popular as the wrapper on some of the best cigars. By the end of the 90s, Cuba stopped growing Corojo wrapper because of its susceptibility to pests and diseases. Ironically, Corojo wrapper has since become more popular outside of Cuba, as it has been replicated in tobacco farms in Nicaragua, Honduras, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.
Criollo
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Criollo tobacco was originally developed for filler, but was found to be tasty as a wrapper when shade-grown. Criollo means "native" in Spanish. Excellent burn and construction, the only thing I didn't like was the crazy amount of smoke coming from the foot throughout the whole session! Nonetheless, great black coffee, a bit of espresso, cocoa, dark chocolate, sweet tobacco flavors. My cigar had a ton of tooth so that helped with the sweetness! It got bitter towards the end, otherwise the first third to halfway through the smoke was nice.

Biggest downside to this cigar was the smoke coming out of it. There was constant smoke coming from the foot. I felt sick for inhaling all that smoke around me. First one I smoked, the wrapper started coming undone after a few puffs. Not sure if it was my cut or the cigar itself. Second one I smoked did not have this issue, and the cut was the same. Either way, this cigarillo has a great taste, both to the lips and in the mouth there's a menthol aftertaste/ tingle. Smell/ aroma is that of a peppermint patty or girl scout cookie. Added to my go-to travel humidor along with my Acid Blue and Red Krush.

What a great cigar. From the get go, I could smell the dark chocolate and the sweet taste of the wrapper. The sweetness was not strong, just enough to make the whole experience a smooth one. The burn was good, and I only had to adjust a little of the burn on one side about half-way through the second third. The draw was very easy, and the smoke, was wonderful. There was a hint of chocolate, that made the whole experience wonderfully relaxing. I didn't taste any mint, but that could be because I am a relative newcomer to this "hobby". Never-the-less, I really enjoyed smoking this one. I loved the way the smoke from the cherry rose very slowly and ran down the cigar towards the shoulder, and before getting there it rose up and dissipated. This cigar "forced" me to keep it in my hand and puff on it. When I put it down to rest it, as it were, I really wanted to pick it up and smoke some more, trying to get even more out of it. Great cigar, even for beginners. Definitely buying this again.

The sweet Thai coffee flavor seemed more obvious in the cold draw/aroma than once lit. Sweetness/flavor while smoking was more subtle, a nice counterpoint. Puts off an INCREDIBLE amount of white smoke, kind of like lighting a stick of incense. I found the flavor smooth but a bit thin/lacking in complexity compared to non-flavored maduros around the same pricepoint. Might be good to keep a few on hand for friends or for morning smokes. Worth trying but YMMV.

Java Maduro was a real surprise to me. I found a serious cigar here, where the flavors are much more than the cacao aroma from an infused cigar. Very tasty and relaxing smoke. I will be smoking more of these soon!

I chose this cigar for a different taste. This cigar was smooth and burned evenly. Since I don't normally smoke flavored cigars, the sweet taste was a little too much for me. If you enjoy a coffee flavored cigar, it is a good smoke!

One of my first cigars ever smoked was a Java so I was in the mood to smoke an infused cigar once again-- especially in the morning! This box pressed Java mint was a good decision. Definitely hit the spot and I was extremely happy that it was not overly sweet. After the first couple puffs, the sweet , sugary cap disappears and the rest of the entire smoke was a beautiful mild , barelysweet cigar. The smoke output was amazing which comes along with most Drew Estate cigars. The burn and draw were perfect! Only a light hint of mint was apparent along with light notes of cocoa. Overall consistent , delicious, not over powering with sweetness, infused cigar!

This Java Latte cigar was much better than I had anticipated, with the perfect balance of flavored sweetness and that classic tobacco flavor cigar smokers look for. With a nice Connecticut Shade wrapper, these are a mellow alternative to the original Java's Maduro. With a smooth Nicaraguan blend, these are very good smokes: creamy and well-balanced, with a soft aroma so appealing, even non-cigar folks approve.

I've come to lean more towards flavored sticks, so I decided to give these a try. Very nice pre-light aroma out of the cello, and an easy start, but the flavor and aroma just fell flat after the first third. I was hoping for more coffee flavor throughout the smoke, but even through the nice creamy smoke, it just wasn't there. Slightly disappointed.
