Originally released as a limited-edition anniversary cigar, the AVO Classic Maduro has returned, but this time it is a regular production cigar. The AVO Classic Maduro was the first blend developed by the late jazz composer turned cigar crafter Avo Uvezian in concert with master blender Hendrik “Henke” Kelner. It is artfully hand crafted in the Dominican Republic by the Davidoff Group. It sports a warm, deep brown USA Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper that covers a binder and filler made of premium Dominican tobaccos and delivers rich notes of cedar, wood, pepper, and espresso.

Dominican Republic
Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

Wrapper
USA Connecticut Broadleaf
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Connecticut Broadleaf is grown in the United States' Connecticut Valley and is prized for its dark, oily, full flavored and aromatic characteristics. The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.
Binder
Dominican Republic
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Dominican Republic is a traditional tobacco-growing country. In the 60's, a Cuban seed was introduced and the resulting tobacco, called Piloto Cubano, became famous as a good substitute of the Cuban tobacco that was no longer allowed to enter the USA. Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.
Filler
Dominican Republic
Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

AVO Seasons is a collection of limited-edition cigars crafted to capture the beauty and essence of each season. The blends were crafted by Davidoff’s master blenders. The cigars represent the blenders’ interpretation as to what a cigar should look, feel, and taste based on the season. The first release is Spring, followed by Summer, Fall, and Winter. Each seasonal blend is released at the start of its respective season. The cigars in this arrangement are handmade and released as an expertly crafted perfecto vitola. The cigars are placed in a collectible box, which itself is an artistic expression of each season.

The AVO Signature 30 Years is handmade in the Dominican Republic and to Avo’s exacting specifications. An elegant Ecuadorian wrapper is draped over a Dominican binder, and specially blended long fillers from the Dominican Republic. If you want to jazz up your humidor, we suggest you stock up on the AVO Signature 30 years because it has been issued as a limited edition and it won’t be around for long.

The Caribe uses a dark Dominican maduro wrapper placed over an Ecuadorian binder, and a filler composed of leaves from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Avo Syncro Nicaragua is a new concept for the brand which has used essentially Dominican Republic tobacco. Until now. Avo Syncro captures the sweet and spicy flavors of Nicaraguan tobacco with the creamy flavors of top quality Dominican tobacco. The Nicaraguan tobacco used is from Ometepe, an island in Nicaragua with rich, volcanic soil. The wrapper is a chocolate brown Ecuadorian Habano. The idea behind Avo Syncro is that it blends the best of both tobacco-producing countries. The box pressed cigar is manufactured at Davidoff's factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic.

Habana 2000 or H2000, is a hybrid between El Corojo, Cuba's standard wrapper leaf last cultivated in the 90s, and a cigarette tobacco called Bell 61-10. Cuban cigar growers crossed these two tobaccos in order to get a wrapper leaf that would be more resistant to disease than the Corojo was. Although its introduction was controversial and the leaf was not widely accepted, its quality has improved over time and it is now being cultivated with success outside of Cuba as well.
