The NUB is a premium cigar that develops it's optimum flavor quickly. The larger ring gauges provide a cooler burning, longer smoking cigar while accentuating the flavors and smoking qualities of his uniquely blended filler. The Nub Connecticut is surprisingly complex and delivers creamy flavor.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Claro wrapper is light, yellowish brown in color.

Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Oliva Cigar Company is Nicaragua's second largest grower of tobacco and one of the largest cigarmakers in the world. It all started in 1886 when Melanio Oliva first grew tobacco in Cuba. In 1995, his grandson Gilberto Oliva would launch the Oliva cigar brand, produced in Esteli, Nicaragua. The company's flagship brand, Oliva Serie V, has obtained some of the highest ratings in cigar publications worldwide. Their cigars use mostly tobacco harvested by the company in their various farms in Nicaragua.

They believed that a cigar finds its “sweet spot” at the 3 ½- 4 inch point. All “nub” cigars must exist within this window. No “nub” is longer than 4 inches. Further adding to this complex theory, the ring gauges range from 56-66. The result is a range of smokes that have the same amount of tobacco as any Churchill or even Presidente. Unbelievably, they also smoke as long.

I really like the Nub Connecticut 460. Very very nice construction. Draw OK, burns decent. Flavour a bit creamy light and can be smoked morning, afternoon with a coffee or even at night when in the mood for something on the lighter side. Also great to keep around when you non-cigar buddies decide they want a cigar. At $6 or so...they are a keeper for sure.

It's an ok Connecticut, mild, not a lot of flavor. At light up it tasted the best and I wish that flavor kept up. I remember first having nub Connecticuts several years ago and they were cheaper and tastier. I'm avoiding these for the time being. There's a lot better options for the money and quality.

Great little cigar set - it’s tough to quantify four cigar styles (which came in this sampler) with one review. The set itself was nicely packaged and had even made a few of my friends audibly jealous. They were wondering where i had even found such a set. The punch tool it came with was a nice touch; although, upon using the punch tool, i feel that i was drawing too much smoke, which was nearly forcing me to inhale some. One cigar in the pack burned unevenly. That may have been user error, but i don’t think so. Overall this is a great product and i would recommend to a friend!

Nub has always been the standard for that everlasting sweet spot. Dry draw is easy and pleasant, lighting up and taking that first draw on the pallet is nice also. I never had to touch up the cigar, always a straight burn and long ash. I recommend to all who want a smooth after breakfast smoke, during the day smoke or on the links smoke. Great cigar!!

These are good. I am fascinated by the fact that a four inch cigar can last an hour. Nice flavor; good draw; even burn. Obviously, each of the four has a different character. The sampler provides a chance to try all four for a good price.

Good way to find out which of these were better from the others. Overall they were good. Some burned better than others. But they all were full of great flavor.

It burned very even and didn’t get hot even if I puff hard on it. Reminds me of the Olivia Connecticut Reserve flavor and smell profiles. (I know Olivia makes Nub)

I've smoked plenty of NUBS over the years and decided to redeem some SMOKE RING points on the NUBS sampler pack. I wanted a smaller, shorter smoke than my usual LFD D-700s, DIGGERS and my CAO FlatHead 770s, so the NUBS were it. Good flavor, although the four different blends weren't vastly different. Construction is nice, with no plugs, or pineapple burns and while not large cigars, I got a good 40-50 minutes out of each, which is what I wanted. If you're looking for a shorter (time wise) smoke, but want a solid medium flavor, the NUBS should be worth a gamble. Chris

Nub doesn't disappoint! Very much love these smokes. Taste great and flavorful. They do get hot at the end. Recommend using a punch to cut.

Definitely worth a try so you can form your own opinion on this brand and what the smaller form has to offer. I usually like a stronger flavored cigar, but ironically found everything but the Cameroon a bit of a disappointment. That stated, many friends who's pallets I respect based on some excellent recommendations kindly disagree with that opinion. We all agree the smaller form factor is not a gimmick and that the sized punch is a great bonus if you like to smoke this brand.

I love this cigar! They have to be touched up from time to time but it's not that often I smoke one that needs to be. It's a tad bolder than the Alec Bradley Connecticut which I like and lasts about as long as a 54 ring toro. I buy these as a staple item for my humidor every time I make an order. Also great for newbies to the hobby, as they have a great price, a very high rating, smooth and Great taste that isn't overpowering and are easy to find.
