Punch Gran Puro Nicaragua is a rich and savory Punch with a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper. A full bodied, robusto cigar with Nicaraguan fillers and binder. Pepper, cedar, and leather taste are in the flavor profile for this stick handmade in Nicaragua.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

USA Connecticut Broadleaf
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Connecticut Broadleaf is grown in the United States' Connecticut Valley and is prized for its dark, oily, full flavored and aromatic characteristics. The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.
Binder
Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Cold draw hints of hazelnut, the wrapper has a dark chocolate note , first third has an easy draw which stayed with the whole of the experience, slightly sweet taste and plenty of smoke, the ash was a nice even grey and stayed on till the beginning of the second third which didn't vary much from the first third, a pleasant and rewarding smoke to the nub. Definitely will order again.

Just how I like it. Great leathery toothy wrapper and draw is fine, little on the tighter end. Burns fairly evenly and haven't had to touch one up yet out of 4 sticks. Gives off a lot of smoke and has a very rich aroma. Taste is there from light up and doesn't change much but constantly delivers rich chocolate, espresso and pepper notes.

Got this cigar as part of a sampler pack. Taste of pepper and cocoa. A little more robust than the Punch classic line. Good flavours but was disappointed because it would not stay lit. Would have enjoyed it more if I didn't have to consistently relight it. I gave up 3/4 of the way through.

What a little beast of a stick. Easy light and draw. Great smoke output. Had what threatened to be a runner a few times but always evened out. Up front was dark leather and chocolate notes. Middle third picked up more pepper and coffee. Final third amped up in strength considerably. Bigger wood notes, more pepper and dusty cocoa powder. Bomb little stick. Great nightcap.

My first time with the GP Nicaragua and I must say it surpassed my expectations. Beautiful dark and oily wrapper. Great construction, the draw and burn were almost flawless. Peppery out of the gate but settled down quickly and brought lots of flavor. Full body. Didn't get hot at the end so I smoked it to a tiny nub.
