Diesel Whiskey Row Sherry Toro 6 * 50, Box of 20

From the creative mind of AJ Fernandez comes the Diesel Whiskey Row Sherry, which is a medium-strength premium cigar that is handmade in Nicaragua. A dark USA Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper surrounds the Whiskey Row Sherry’s cask-aged Brazilian Arapiraca binder and Nicaraguan Habano filler. The Diesel Whiskey Row Sherry Brazilian Arapiraca tobacco has been carefully aged in barrels that previously contained Pedro Ximenez 30-Year-Old Sherry. This aging process adds a Sherry sweetness to the tobacco for a very exquisite smoking experience.

Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

USA Connecticut Broadleaf
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Connecticut Broadleaf is grown in the United States' Connecticut Valley and is prized for its dark, oily, full flavored and aromatic characteristics. The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.
Binder
Brazil
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Brazil grows tobacco from North to South. The East Central State of Bahia is an important cigar tobacco producer. The growing area is about 100 miles west of the state capital, Salvador da Bahia, an active port on the Atlantic Coast. The Northern State of Alagoas hosts a production around the city of Arapiraca where maduro wrappers are grown. The Southern states of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina produce tobacco for cigarettes and pipe.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Diesel whiskey row sherry cast toro Day in and day out, we work around cigars. We get questions all of the time about cigars we have never had. So I thought I’d go for something different. The Diesel Whiskey Row Sherry Toro fit that void. Removing it from the cellophane, it had a slight sweet oak smell as well as on the cold draw. After toasting and first puff, I picked up some fig or raisin type tastes. Smooth smoke output and did not need my attention to stay lit. Around a quarter of the way in, the sweetness toned down and a oaky taste became dominant with some dry nuttiness. About half way in I was wishing I had some type of liquor to go with the strong wood oak taste. As I inch down it started to get a little bit of a smooth peppery taste and slight spice to the lips. I had to call it quits with a half inch left as the smoke got too hot. This cigar had a great draw and would compliment any drink especially a spiced rum or brandy.

I try to keep a couple of these on hand. With a couple months of rest they really blossom in to something special. Cream, raisins, oak, dark cocoa, and allspice come together to make the first third shine before giving way to a complex amalgamation of flavors. The smooth delivery helps disguise that this is a medium-fill to full strength cigar. Definitely my favorite Diesel cigar.

This was one of the first sticks I had ever bought it was also the first box I had bought. I still enjoy it alot. My palate had change since I started. I didn't know what was a good cigar. But this is still awsome it burns great its crafted well. The taste and smell is everything you could want in a good smoke. I always keep some on hand.

Solid stick, Oily Dark wrapper. No visible seams and few small veins. Faint aroma, until you get close to the foot, and it hits you, nice sweet tobacco. Cold draw does not give much, and seems loose, Once lit, the draw is Perfect, with a reasonable amount of medium bodied smoke. Flavor is consistent and smooth, quality tobacco, could not find any sweetness, except in the pre-light aroma. Burn is ok, a little uneven, but that's probably is my fault. Overall a Fine Tasting Medium bodied smoke.

I also did a review on this and I enjoyed the flavor of the toro better than the Gigante. A true medium flavored cigar with earthy rich tones that draw in near the end with a very slight sweet flavor (you can almost miss it) at the end. I paired the second one I had with Bourbon and it was even better. I highly recommend this.

Outstanding smoke. This is an extremely smooth and rich taste. The draw is very solid and for me I could taste earthy tones with pepper. Near the end it appeared to get slightly sweet so light you could almost miss it. I would recommend getting this and pairing it with your favorite bourbon.

The presentation and band art on this are really nice, though, the bands do not come off easy, and both tore the wrapper a bit. This one smells great, and the smoke aroma is fantastic. The flavor of the cap in your mouth isn't half bad either. The whole package is a rather nice experience. However, the smoke itself is pretty standard fare, and nothing to write home about. If the foot smoke and cap flavor weren't as nice as they are, the experience would rate even lower. Premium for sure, but there are a lot better ways to light $8 on fire!

First thing you notice is the strong aroma of sherry coming off of it before you light it. Preflight draw had hints of the sherry. Blast of pepper to start but calms down after the first little bit. Draw tight to begin, lessened on that after first third. Good smoke output. Taste had some vanilla, and a dry sweetness to it that was real nice, pepper on the retrohale, lessens as you go along. Burn was great straight line, tight white ash, smoke down to nub. Very strong cigar, not for a beginner or those who prefer medium.

Average cigar. It had this dry type of profile on the palette with a peppery tang. After maybe a third it mellowed out and had a small pepper after taste. The draw was a little firm. I'd pass on this one. Not worth the price, just another Diesel with a colorful name.
