Avo Syncro Nicaragua is a new concept for the brand which has used essentially Dominican Republic tobacco. Until now. Avo Syncro captures the sweet and spicy flavors of Nicaraguan tobacco with the creamy flavors of top quality Dominican tobacco. The Nicaraguan tobacco used is from Ometepe, an island in Nicaragua with rich, volcanic soil. The wrapper is a chocolate brown Ecuadorian Connecticut. The idea behind Avo Syncro is that it blends the best of both tobacco-producing countries. The box pressed cigar is manufactured at Davidoff's factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic.

The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Colorado is a medium brown color also known as EMS or English Market Selection as this used to be the color with more popularity in England than in America.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. Ecuador supplies Connecticut and Sumatra type wrappers to many cigar factory in the world.
Binder
Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.
Filler (or “tripa” in Spanish) is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar. The Dominican Republic is considered one of the most premier tobacco growing countries in the world. The filler tobacco grown in this Caribbean island nation ranges from mild to full bodied. Olor Dominicano and Piloto Cubano are the main types of tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic.

This cigar gave me the WOW factor! A flavor bomb, delicious and consistent from start to finish! If I had closed my eyes and smelled this tobacco, I might have mistaken it for a bar of milk chocolate, to my delight the aromatics were of chocolate too! I was thinking of French desserts and got rich notes of caramel, Bischoff, and cream soda, with additional notes of root beer, chai tea, and cappuccino dusted with chocolate. I tasted grass too, but only at the very beginning of the smoke. Flavors were delivered in a smooth and creamy manner.

I like these and mostly because of an easy draw. One of the easiest. If you like really easy draw you will like this. Only problem with such loose fill for easy draw is it goes out very easy. This isn’t one to not keep going on or it will go out. That’s the trade off.

Pretty nice all in all. The draw is the easiest ever. Zero restriction. I like an easy draw. Not everyone does. As they say- like sucking on straw. But I like it that way. This box pressed tubo toro is one easy one to pull and lots of smoke. Didn’t stay lit as much as I’d prefer but not too bad.

This is one of the two best cigars I have ever had the privilege of smoking (the other being the Padron 1964 anniversary maduro 60, which remains my favorite cigar of all time.) The only two possible slight negatives are 1) the draw is very loose (which I love) but thus 2)makes the burn relatively fast. The aroma is excellent, the cigar looks and feels great, and the taste is fantastic, with chocolate and nutty hints. My only hesitancy in recommending it so highly is that I won’t be able to get it in the future when I try to re-order it due to everyone else agreeing with my review. This is a MUST TRY at any price! Excellent cigar from an excellent master. Highly recommend!

The toro and short robusto in this line are on another level. The smoke is rich and creamy and is almost a salty leather on the draw with a citrus and cedar finish. I think fans of Padron and the EP Carrillo Encore might want to give this a shot.

I am Happy, had a great day and will top off my evening with this Beauty. This is a Great Cigar, Solid construction, firm without being hard. The wrapper is Milk chocolate, with several brown tones working together to wrap the pristine contents. Seams are clearly visible, because of the shades of the wrapper, and so are the veins which are significant, but not offensive. The smell, ohhh, the smell, is of sweet perfection, tobacco with sweet nuts, my mouth waters expecting nougat. Draw is great, giving hints of leather. Slow burn, with low volume light smoke. Smooth flavors of wood with muted hints sweetness. As the cigar burns, peanuts, with a lingering sweetness arise. Its simply perfect.

I've had a couple Avo's in the past with mixed results but this one was a real pleasant surprise. Excellent construction draw taste n aroma. Burn wasn't perfect but decent n relatively consistent. It rates as a medium but my first puffs delivered a strong kick n I'd say remained medium to strong throughout. I'm def gonna smoke this one again...

Sorry, I was not not impressed in the least with this cigar. Spongy over soft feel. Dry, non oily looking wrapper that resembles sandpaper. This cigar did not burn well and unraveled while smoked. The taste was mediocre. To me this is just another cigar name trying to do the Nicaraguan shuffle, and it’s not working. Sorry AVO. Maybe you like this cigar, and I hope you do. It just didn’t do it for me.

Overall a good cigar, just wished the draw was a little tighter. Does get a little harsh towards the last 1/4 of it though, wished it held out longer. But I do tend to smoke my cigars very short.

Delicious aroma of spice and nutmeg on the prelight introduction. Upon drawing, my lips felt dry and sticky, like a piece of unflavored gum quickly lending to a simple and light spices. The combination of aroma and taste was reminiscent of walking on the sidewalk in the California sun after it rained. Lots of creamy smoke; the burn was even and the ash remained nearly through the 1st third . The nicotine hit me strong suddenly upon starting the 2nd third. Cedar comes into the scene and remains with pepper mingling around the mouth. There was a bit of canoeing that corrected itself. Wood, pepper and leather and earthiness persisted through the final puffs.

These AVO tubos are an incredible stick. I am still developing my pallette so I really can't call out exactly what I am tasting, just that it is full of flavor and very smooth. I would like to have a box of these

This stick is chocolate brown and square pressed... first thought is, it doesn't feel like an AVO. This is a big departure for the brand: first time they make a box pressed cigar, first time they use Nicaraguan tobacco in the blend. I toast it and light it and the draw is flawless. The first few puffs are very spicy, almost off-putting, but I decide to stick with it, smoke it more slowly. A few minutes later, it pays off. Sweetness, dried fruit, leather, earthiness, all are present in the flavor profile. By mid-smoke the cigar starts canoeing, which I can correct with the lighter, but I don't. The ash is beautiful, the draw is fantastic and the flavors are complex. I am in love with this very pleasant cigar and smoke it to the nub. Give the AVO Syncro Nicaragua a chance and it will not disappoint. A perfect symphony of Nicaraguan and Dominican flavors!
