The AVO Unexpected Passion is a limited-edition, medium-strength toro that is part of AVO’s Unexpected line. Perfectly hand rolled in the Dominican Republic, the Unexpected Passion was originally announced as being made of undisclosed premium tobacco that has been carefully aged for 25 years. It was later revealed by Davidoff that the blend is actually the same blend of the AVO Classic.

In the 60's, a Cuban seed was introduced and the resulting tobacco, called Piloto Cubano, became famous as a good substitute of the Cuban tobacco that was no longer allowed to enter the USA. Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.
