Up until now I have been satisfied with the 2 blade 'flat' cutters - no more! The Xi1 is a quality unit. Feels firm in the hand and comfortable to grip but most importantly it provides a clean cut. I would definitely recommend this item.

If you are wondering why spend the extra money for this cutter when the xi2 has the same blades? The xi1 has an aluminum body which gives a heft and easier to hold on the hand. Blades are great and cuts are nice and smooth. Definitely recommend.

I have always purchased the cheap cigar cutters, under $10. I was always worried when the blades got dull about cutting myself inadvertently. This is a dream cutter. It cuts the cigar perfectly, and so easily. It remains closed (locked) until you need it. I highly recommend acquiring this unit.

I was hesitant to spend a lot of coin on a cutter, so I waited until I'd built up enough smoke rings to get one for free. If you buy one, you will not be disappointed. Heavy-duty, quality construction and cuts like a laser. If you're on the fence, get one of these--they are certainly worth it!!

This is my 3rd Xikar cutter & the Xi1 is by far the best. Really like the improved latch release & also it has fasteners all around the blade holders. My Xi2 blades were only glued or pressed in & repeatedly come loose.

I got the blue one on a whim - more because I didn't have anything close to that cutter and it would make it easier to identify in the box where I keep my cutters and accessories. Turns out the blue is a beautiful color and I'm really glad I ended up with it. The pictures don't do it justice. It's the most I've spent on a cutter by probably $20 but it's not wasted money. Super well made - all metal body, very high quality machining, and the blades are so sharp I hardly notice a difference cutting a cigar versus opening and closing the blades with nothing in it. If this was the first straight cutter I had gotten it would probably be the only one I own.

Looks great. Doesn't cut 60. I find the release button a bit annoying to use when you want to cut. Maybe better with an inner spring so the blades will bounce back to the ready position.

This cutter is a game changer. The best part about it is that I no longer have to worry about cutting too much or too little from my cigar. You set this cutter on a flat surface, and then put your cigar in and cut. I do this twice for a nice draw without cutting high enough that my wrapper starts to unravel.

Got it quickly and was pleased with the shipping time, but the actual cutter itself had a minor flaw, and wasn't piticuraly sharp, but the lifetime warrenty is a real thing, I took it to a local dealer and they swapped it, for one without any defects and that's quite sharp.

I was never fussed over the Xi1 style. I purchased this based on the high ratings online. Mine happens to have a rattle, the screws did nothing to help, I'm currently in the process of arranging a replacement BUT on the other hand the Xi1 cuts rather well my biggest issue is the size of it, I find it slightly awkward in the hand, I've tried many different holding positions however can't seem to find the sweet spot. I believe with further though the design could be improved dramatically for the second generation.

Best cutter I have tried so far, just like their lighters and other accessories Xikar makes tremendously well built products. I wish the gauge permitted a little bit higher sized cuts, however if you are careful to only take the proper amount of cap you can get into the bigger sticks.
