A balanced, medium-bodied cigar that delivers notes of coffee, nuts, and chocolate. Its Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper cloaks a Dominican Piloto Cubano binder and a Dominican Piloto Cubano and Mexican filler. Handmade in the Dominican Republic, the tobaccos for the Cohiba Black Gigante Tube have been aged for at least three years. The wrapper leaf is aged right on the plant. This allows the wrapper to develop its dark-as-the-night hue. Once rolled, each cigar is nested in an aluminum tube to protect the aged wrapper and preserve its flavors and aromas. The cigar pairs well with a dark-brown ale, or a coffee (light or dark).

While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

  Connecticut Broadleaf is grown in the United States' Connecticut Valley and is prized for its dark, oily, full flavored and aromatic characteristics. The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.

  The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together. 
  Dominican Republic is a traditional tobacco-growing country. In the 60's, a Cuban seed was introduced and the resulting tobacco, called Piloto Cubano, became famous as a good substitute of the Cuban tobacco that was no longer allowed to enter the USA. Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.
