Crowned Heads' Le Careme line has been praised since its introduction in 2016, and now the boutique brand has released a special limited edition version with the Le Careme Belicosos Finos LE 2018. The only one in the series that is not box-pressed, this Dominican figurado is rolled at the E.P. Carrillo factory and features a dark and toothy USA Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper on top of an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and premium Nicaraguan filler, offering a delectably rich and sweet smoke reminiscent of a top-notch souffle.   Le Careme by Crowned Heads is supposed to taste like "chocolate souffle"; the cigar's name itself is a hommage to a 19th-century French chef who became well known for his high cuisine and for popularizing this dessert. The blend is an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, Nicaraguan filler and Grade A Dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The cigar is made at Ernesto Perez-Carrillo's factory in Dominican Republic, Tabacalera La Alianza.

  A box pressed cigar is a cigar that has a square shape. Originally, this shape came from the practice of packing round cigars tightly in cardboard boxes which are then compacted using a manual press. The cigars are thus pressed into each other and become a "squarish" or semi-square shape. Today, cigar makers use square shaped molds or a wooden trunk press for their box pressed cigars, achieving a more defined square section.

Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

  Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, a legend in the industry since the success in the 90s of his La Gloria Cubana brand, has now created E.P. Carrillo which he runs with his family. In 2009, he began making the cigars that bear his name in his own factory called Tabacalera La Alianza located in Santiago, Dominican Republic.

  Connecticut Broadleaf is grown in the United States' Connecticut Valley and is prized for its dark, oily, full flavored and aromatic characteristics. The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.
