  Le Careme by Crowned Heads is supposed to taste like "chocolate souffle"; the cigar's name itself is a hommage to a 19th-century French chef who became well known for his high cuisine and for popularizing this dessert. The blend is an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, Nicaraguan filler and Grade A Dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The cigar is made at Ernesto Perez-Carrillo's factory in Dominican Republic, Tabacalera La Alianza.

In 2009, he began making the cigars that bear his name in his own factory called Tabacalera La Alianza located in Santiago, Dominican Republic.

The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.
