Handmade in Honduras by the JRE Tobacco Company, the Cuba Aliados Natural Regordo is a reimagined version of the original classic, and it honors the legacy of Rolando Reyes Sr, a gifted cigar crafter, who first released this superb cigar.

The cigar pays tribute to Reyes and his search for a suitable place to grow tobacco and reestablish his cigar business after leaving Cuba. The cigars are handmade in Honduras at the JRE Tobacco Company, which is owned and operated by the father and son team of Julio and Justo Eiroa, two leaders in the cigar industry.

Danli and the Jamastran Valley is considered the heart of Honduras’ cigar industry. The Jamastran Valley is known for producing a full-bodied tobacco that draws strong comparisons to the tobacco grown in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. This same region is also known for its Connecticut shade grown and Corojo shade grown tobacco. In addition, Honduras produces Cuban-seed sun grown filler tobaccos of the highest quality.

  Corojo tobacco was first developed in Cuba in the 1930s and quickly became popular as the wrapper on some of the best cigars. By the end of the 90s, Cuba stopped growing Corojo because of its susceptibility to pests and diseases. Ironically, Corojo has since become more popular outside of Cuba, as it has been replicated in tobacco farms in Nicaragua, Honduras, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic.
