This medium-strength, small panatela features a spicy Nicaraguan binder and a filler that is deftly draped by a green candela wrapper that covers its first two third, then a very rustic Kentucky fire cured maduro leaf covers the final third. This unique blend delivers an unforgettable smoking experience by combining the mouthwatering ultra-sweetness of the candela leaf with the savory sweet barbecue flavor of the Kentucky fire cured leaf and the filler’s spicy core. The Kentucky Fire Cured Swamp Thang Sweet Ponies pairs well with scotch or an IPA beer. It is handmade in Nicaragua.

  Pale green to bright green in color, Dominican Candela is a mild, bitter wrapper that has seen very little sun. Found to be more and more uncommon as the years go by, Candela wrappers have an earthy, hay note with an underlying tinge of sweetness.

  The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
  Mexican tobacco is very dark and the best leaves can be used as maduro wrappers. San Andres Maduro is a thick, medium bodied dark leaf, also called San Andres Morron. Like Connecticut Broadleaf, San Andres Maduro is stalk cut and used for binder and wrapper.

  Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.
