A full-strength cigar with rich notes of cocoa, chocolate, spice, wood, and leather. Its Mexican San Andres wrapper covers a Nicaraguan binder and filler. This awesome blend includes the Sancti Spiritus leaf, which is grown exclusively by My Father Cigars. Handmade in Nicaragua, La Mission by L'Atelier Import cigars, of which Pete Johnson of Tatuaje is a partner, is a cigar inspired by a Bordeaux winery called Chateau La Mission. The “2009” date corresponds to the year that the winery received a 100 point rating from Robert Parker, a highly respected wine critic and publisher of The Wine Advocate.

  La Mission, launched in 2015, is the most full bodied release of L'atelier, using a Mexican San Andres wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos. The blend also includes Sancti Spiritus leaf in the filler, a tobacco grown by the Garcia family in Nicaragua. La Mission is handmade in the Garcia's factory, My Father Cigars.

  Box-Pressed (Square)

  A box pressed cigar is a cigar that has a square shape. Originally, this shape came from the practice of packing round cigars tightly in cardboard boxes which are then compacted using a manual press. The cigars are thus pressed into each other and become a "squarish" or semi-square shape. Today, cigar makers use square shaped molds or a wooden trunk press for their box pressed cigars, achieving a more defined square section.

  My Father Cigars manufactures handmade premium cigars in Miami and Esteli, Nicaragua. The company is owned and operated by Don Pepin, his son Jaime, and his daughter Janny. The "Garcia Family Industrial Park" located in Esteli, Nicaragua is a seven-acre complex with 9 buildings, over 1900 employees, where the Garcias supervise their cigar production from the tobacco field to the roller's table. Their Miami headquarters house 12 rollers that make all of the company's "handmade in Miami" brands.

  The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
  Mexican tobacco is very dark and the best leaves can be used as maduro wrappers. San Andres Maduro is a thick, medium bodied dark leaf, also called San Andres Morron. Like Connecticut Broadleaf, San Andres Maduro is stalk cut and used for binder and wrapper.

  The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together. 
  Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.
