The cigar opens with pronounced notes of aged cedar, underscored by a delicate whisper of natural sweetness. As it develops, layers of toasted nuts emerge, lending a rich, buttery complexity to the profile. The cigar’s delicate wrapper is expertly placed over a binder and filler made of Nicaraguan leaves. The Montecristo M is handmade by AJ Fernandez in Nicaragua.

The blend is comprised of exquisite Nicaraguan tobaccos hand made by AJ Fernandez, and they compliment beautifully with the 20 year old wrapper. Made in small batches because of the limited availability of the wrapper, each box contains a certificate of authenticity by the tobacco grower, David Perez, and by AJ Fernandez and Rafael Nodal.

  Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

  Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.
