Wrapped in a Connecticut shade leaf, these cigars bear the name of Damaso Padron, the first of the Padron dinasty to arrive in Cuba from the Canary Islands and start growing tobacco.

  Padron Damaso is a real departure for the Padron family, as this is their first Connecticut Shade wrapped cigar, and it is also a round shape, contrary to their usual box-pressed cigars. The cigar is mild to medium and includes Nicaraguan fillers in the blend. The cigar is named after Damaso Padron, grandfather of the company's founder, Jose O. Padron. This smooth and creamy cigar from Padron offers notes of caramel, hay and hazelnuts.

The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

  Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.
