The Partagas Black Label uses rare medio tiempo leaves for its wrapper, which are darker, heavier, and richer than most wrapper leaves. These leaves are harvested only after they have been allowed to age on their stalks 50% longer than other wrapper leaves. The Partagas Black Label Clasico received an 87 rating from Cigar Aficionado and an 89 rating from Cigar Insider.

  The highly rated Partagas Black Label cigar is a very dark, attractive cigar, yet dont let that fool you as it is also as creamy and smooth a smoke as you will ever taste in a Maduro. In order to create Partagas Black Label, Daniel Nuez and his colleagues spent 10 years perfecting the Medio Tempo wrapper and the La Vega Especial binder. Cuban-seed Medio Tempo wrappers are darker, heavier and richer than other wrappers because they are harvested only after they have been allowed to age on their plants 50% longer than other wrapper leaves. These tobaccos and a larger ring gauge translate into a richer, fuller-bodied flavor.

Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.

Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.
