This troubleshooting guide should help you solve some of the more common issues you may experience with your Cigar Scanner Wi-Fi Hygrometer and Thermometer Kit.
I set-up the Gateway, but the sensor isn’t pairing. What’s wrong?
Please check to see if your Gateway and sensor are within 300 feet of each other.
Note: Pairing the sensor to the gateway should happen within a few minutes, but sometimes it could take up to 20 minutes.
Verify that the Mac Address on the sensor has been properly entered in the Cigar Scanner app. This should be entered in the app’s My Humidors’ edit page. To access the page, tap on the edit icon (Red Pencil). Once you verify that the correct Mac address is entered correctly, scroll down the page, and press the “Save” button.
Tip: Take a minute to write down the Mac Address and store it in a safe place for future reference, or take a photo of it with your mobile device.
Ensure that the sensor is turned on. To do so, press and hold the button on the back of the sensor. A steady blue light will come on momentarily on the front of the unit. The light does not stay on to conserve the batteries’ life. To turn off the sensor, press and hold the button again. The blue light will blink momentarily before the unit turns off.
The unit was working, but now I have a blank screen on the My Humidor page. What’s wrong?
Most likely, you lost connection, or the batteries died.
Check to see if you have a connection. The Gateway should be showing alternating solid-colored lights.
Hit the “Reboot” button on the Cigar Scanner app. It is located in the My Humidors’ edit page. The Gateway’s lights should go off, and then come back on. You should first see a rotating multi-colored light on the Gateway. Then, you should see the solid-colored lights.
It could also be that the “AAA” batteries have died.
