Tobacco secretes oil. When these oils dry, they tend to crystalize and form a white powder that is visible on the wrapper. The white powder is what cigar experts call plume, aka bloom. If you see plume on your cigar, relax don't worry. It is a sign of aging. In fact, plume means your cigar has aged well. The plume will not affect your cigar's flavor profile. If the plume bothers you, gently brush it off with a soft brush.
