“Puro” is the Spanish word for pure. In the cigar world, it refers to a cigar made from tobaccos grown and rolled in a specific country. For example, from wrapper to filler the tobacco used to create the Punch Gran Puro was grown in Honduras, and it is handmade in this Central American country too. Although nowadays, some cigar crafters use the term when referring to the tobacco’s origins and not so much the country in which the cigar was made. Smoking a puro is a great way to sample the tobacco from a particular country.
