This medium-bodied smoke’s leathery, woody, earthy, citrusy, along with white pepper and vanilla notes contribute to its rich complexity. Its Ecuadorian Habano wrapper drapes a “Corojo de Oro” binder, and a filler composed of Brazilian Mata Fina, Dominican Piloto Cubano, and Nicaraguan Ometepe leaves. This unique four-nation blend works in concert to provide a one-of-a-kind smoking experience. The  La Gloria Cubana Corojo de Oro Limited Edition Toro pairs well with Rye, IPA, or Red Zinfandel. The cigars are handmade in the Dominican Republic.

  The La Gloria Cubana brand is known for creating memorable blends using unique tobaccos. Their Corojo de Oro cigar is no different. Its name comes from the cigar’s wrapper quality binder that is made from crossing a Pelo de Oro seed with a Corojo 97-98. The resulting hybrid seed was aptly named “Corojo de Oro.” The leaf is then used to house filler leaves made of Brazilian Mata Fina, Dominican Piloto Cubano, and Nicaraguan Ometepe tobaccos, and finally covered by an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. This eclectic blend gives the cigar its medium-bodied yet bold profile.

  In 1948, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Sr. purchased the El Credito cigar factory in Havana, Cuba. After the Cuban Revolution, he left Cuba and moved to Miami, FLA. There he purchased a small cigar factory and named it El Credito. In 1976, his son Ernesto Jr. took over the enterprise. In the 1990s, El Credito released the legendary La Gloria Cubana cigar. Eventually, El Credito was purchased by Scandinavian Tobacco Group, which still makes the La Gloria Cubana cigar in the Dominican Republic.

  Ecuadorian Habano wrapper has become one of the most used cigar wrappers in the market. This leaf is rich and flavorful thanks to the temperate climate of Ecuador and the quality of its volcanic soil.

  Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.
  Brazil produces rich, medium to strong, dark tobaccos with a sweet taste and aroma. Most of the cigar production is concentrated on the eastern coast of Brazil, in the state of Bahia. Mata Fina tobacco is grown in a region in the Reconcavo Basin of the State of Bahia called Mata Fina (which translated means "thin plants"). Tobacco was one of the natural crops in the region.
