Craig Byron  What is the accuracy? What %. I’ve yet to find a reliable and accurate hydrometer or even the temp. It is frustrating when hours are spent calibrating only to have varying results that are clearly off. If someone were to make/market a good reliable one I’ll bet they’d sell a lot. I think I’ve tried every one in the market!

  • NeptuneCigar.com  Generally these are accurate within 1-2 degrees RH.

Chris  Hi, I calibrated this with a Boveda 75% kit, but when I put it in my humidor with 65% Boveda packs, the hygrometer shows at 68%. I’ve recalibrated and tried this in both a humidor and a tupperdor (both with Boveda 65 packs), and still get the 68% reading. Am I doing something wrong or could this be a faulty one? Thanks in advance.

  • NeptuneCigar.com  Chris, I find that the humidity levels can vary by a couple of degrees when using Boveda packs depending on the humidor and the environment it resides within. Additionally, Hygrometers can vary in accuracy by a couple of degrees as well. It could be one of those factors, or both. If you have another Hygrometer, you can always put them both inside of the humidor to compare results.

  • Chris  Hi, yes that’s what I did. I also have a Xikar PuroTemp hygrometer (purchased from Neptune) and I calibrated it at the same time. I had both tested in a humidor (Savoy purchased from Neptune also) with four 65% Bovedas, and the Xikar showed the right RH while the Caliber IV was 68-69%. I also tested in a tupperdor with 65 Bovedas and it was the same readings. However, both hygrometers showed the correct RH in the 75% Boveda test kit. It’s only when I put the hygrometers in the humidor or tupperdor that the discrepancy happens. Sorry for the long winded explanation, but I’ve been testing this for a while and I’m stumped.

Dirk  I had to replace the batteries of both hygrometers and I'm using the salt test to calibrate...BUT..the one hygrometer shows a RH of LL and never goes past 50 and the other hygrometer shows a RH of 60. It used to work just fine, until now after replacing the batteries. Any ideas what the issue could be?

  • NeptuneCigar.com  Hi Dirk, for the most accuracy in testing your hygrometers we recommend the Boveda One-Step Calibration. The salt test, while good, can yield varying results if not done exact. Michael Weiner  Can it be returned if it does not calibrate or otherwise work, on arrival?
Posted 6/13/2019
  • NeptuneCigar.com  Hi Michael, we offer a 30 day returns period. If you find your hygrometer does not work properly, you can return it for replacement or refund. No questions asked.

  • Anonymous  Thanks very much. I asked because one who rated it gave a lower rating which is NOT deserved if he or she didn’t attempt to remedy the problem by returning it if that was an option. Thanks again. Respectfully, Michael

Bobby  How long can cigars stay in a cooler humidor?
Posted 12/26/2018
  • NeptuneCigar.com  For as long as humidity and temperature settings allow. Many people choose to use a coolidor instead of a traditional cedar lined humidor.

Description

Western Humidor's Caliber hygrometer was the first digital hygrometer designed for your cigar humidor. It was an immediate hit thanks to its slim design and accuracy, and over the years we sold thousands of these units. Now, Cigar Oasis and Western Humidor have teamed up, the Caliber III has been discontinued, and the new Western Caliber IV digital hygrometer has arrived. The new Caliber IV has kept the same accuracy and slim profile as its predecesor but with one very convenient added feature: adjustable calibration. With the push of a button you will now be able to adjust the display setting.
