The higher you go in altitude the less oxygen there is in the air. Since oxygen is used to support combustion, this means your cigar lighter may not function properly in a high altitude location. But don’t worry, there is a solution. As you go higher in altitude, you will need to lower your lighter’s butane flow. This is done by moving the lighter’s fuel adjustment wheel (or screw) to a lower (“-“ minus) setting. You may have to do this a couple of times to get it right. The converse is true if you are in a lower altitude. Most manufacturers list the working altitudes of their lighters. In the dark as to which lighter can help you reach new heights?
